Haha it never ends does it
Actually despite my jokes and Squeaks concern, my views concerning tandems have changed enormously over the past few months. I'm not a TI, but I do work as ground crew helping gear up passengers.
I find it striking how many people are jumping for really life changing reasons. Previously I only saw it through the spectrum of carnival ride or student. But while it is a carnival ride for some, and others are genuine students, the 'milestoners' usually touch my heart.
We had a woman in her late 60's recently on holiday from Japan. She had wanted to jump for over 20 years and struggled to find the courage. Her husband was so scared he went to play golf and only wanted to hear when she was safe.
Another recent guy was your stereotypical dweep type character. He had lost over 30kg and had reached his goal of 100kg. He was terrified of jumping, but had promised himself that if he achieved his goal he would jump. He loved it and set himself the goal of coming for another jump at 90kg. I loved seeing his self confidence grow, from having the courage to follow through.
So all told, Greg may come across badly. From his online persona I doubt he'd fit in with regular jumpers, but if he'd like to do a tandem good on him.
And if Wokka uses the fifth attachment point, I'm sure other TI's would oblige

I think the fact that he's not welcomed at the only 2 dz he's been to (his words) may say something about his persona.
I'd be willing to bet a carton that if he showed up at bridgy and asked Ralph to take him for a tandem, he would get back in the air.
I don't think Greg is man enough to do that though.

Im only commenting on what I have seen online, I don't know what happened first hand... This may be a legitamite question, it just seems to point back to events that should be forgotten not for anyone else sale but his own. The threads just kept dragging on as if he was looking for approval or sympathy etc. Honestly, if he rocked up at my home dz I would jump with him - he just need to let shit go and take a lesson on dropzone/general social politics.
Good to see he wants to get back in the air again, forget the shit and keep jumping I say. Just seems with the abundance of skilled ti's in aus, searching for one particular individual from where bad terms were created seems like he is still stirring on it.

He does seem to enjoy stirring the pot more than he does jumping.
On the Australian skydive forum he went as far as to say that he believed he was banned from all APF (Australian parachute federation) DZs. I told hit was bullshit, and even pointed him in the direction of a non APF DZ if he felt that way....
Still he comes online and whines about wanting to jump....
Greg, there are like 7 DZs in the Melbourne area, stop bitching online book yourself a tandem and show up and jump. Go to one of the tandem factories on the beach and no one will know or care who you are. Just don't ask them if they have sky hooks in their random gear

yeah I think Ralph would take me back. Thats where I will head when its time. Just wanted to know where my mate Wokka is jumping. He is a great bloke and a great TM.
I got on extrremely well with Ralph and I respect him. as high as anyone can respect another person
re Man enough (bit harsh) maybe thats been the whole problem Iam not man enough to continue (although did manange 66 lobs in various forms ) Bit hurt by that statement will have to think about that. Did Ok with solo jumps but maybe I am not worthy. Good luck to those who are. May return to Ralphs if he will have me later 2013. (if I am man enough)

MAN the Fuck up then!
All you seem to want to do is be a keyboard princess. How long has the saga of greg(fill in the rest of the many usernames) been going on for?
Seriously dude, STFU, stop being a princess, get away from the computer and go jump this weekend.
I honestly get the feeling that your the kind of person who would much rather sit at home jerking off to Internet porn rather than go to,the whore house around the corner.

Hey Greg,
Might I ask what happened to you retiring from the sport after last years run of fatalities? You made a note of posting that in the incidents forum. You even sent me a PM about how you were "annoyed" at how people dying was making the sport look bad...
I honestly hope you get back into jumping, knock off all the online dramas and have fun.

it obvious i seem to have a love/hate relationship with skydiving.. yet it always draws me back.
As a wise man once told me (Ralph CI at bridgy) " greg your addicted you can try and give up but you cannot even if you try.. your addicted and thats all there is to it" (quoted almost word perfect as you remember what is said by such a giant of a man ie top bloke)
Alas I do know he is right !! A strange thing this skydiving thing
