Skydive stories book
Can't Post
Doug Garr and I have been collected NSTIWTIWGD stories from fellow skydivers, mainly from the 60s-80s time period. We are close to publishing it (paperback, around 120 pages, 60 - 70 stories). As this is a labor of love, no profit, on a shoestring, we are looking for some idea how many to publish (changes the cost depending on what we order). Anyone think they would be interested in buying this collection of skydiver stories?
these stories are mainly from the crew on the NSTIWTIWGD group in facebook.....skydivers from Perris and Elsinore in the 60 - 80s....have not combed through this web site....if enough books sell so that we break even, may attempt another one, just send the stories to tim_j_long@MSN.com and I will hold on to them and see if we get enough for a second booklet

Apple makes a book writing app for the Macintosh and I believe it's free. You can then electronic publish it. You can also sell e books on amazon. Paperback copies are a bit harder.
Sooo, Timmer...If you take in stories that aren't from our time period, will you make 2 sections? 1 for the 70's , 80's Perris and Elsinore Gang and 1 for the others? Remember when we made the site for FB. It was just for our friends...Doesn't matter to me really...just a thought...
Stories such as these will fit perfectly in the displays of the National Skydiving Museum. Rooms will be dedicated to various at activities in our sport. For example, a room on competition jumping will have several historic video clips showing competition from the barnstormers to the present. Michael Kearns is filming (older) jumpers to collect an oral history. Short video clips will show people explaining what certain aspects were like. Stories (in print) will be printed on wall signs. And so on.
Your old jumpsuit could be part of a rotating display showing jumpsuit development through the years.
