Intermediate 4-Way Team Forming in Ohio Can't Post

An Intermediate level 4-way team is now forming in Ohio and is looking for a fourth member. We are still in the talking stages but have pretty much agreed that this will be a fun, yet challenging, part-time team that will train at Start Skydiving in Middletown, Ohio, and compete at the Intermediate level at the 2013 USPA Nationals at Skydive Chicago.

The ideal candidate will have the following basic knowledge/skills/experience/abilities:
• Understanding of and familiarity with all Randoms and Blocks in the Intermediate dive pool
• Sufficient tunnel time learning to fly Mantis and build Randoms
• Sufficient air time doing 4-way
• Confident but not a control freak
• Ability to compromise and put team goals first
• Ability to fly comfortably with 3 other teammates who are in the 130 – 155 lb. weight range.

Current Minimum Training Goals:
• Train one full weekend and one other weekend day each month
• Attend one tunnel camp of at least an hour and-a-half duration
• Participate in the Intermediate level at the 2013 USPA Nationals

Interested candidates can respond to this ad or private message Ed Lightle.

Thanks!

Thanks, Eric! Casting my net wider as Dan BC would say. It's looking good so far. Maybe I'll get to see you at SDC during Nationals?

The ideal 4th member will also have experience flying inside center.

Thanks!

We have found a fourth member! We will have a mix of experience levels but that's good. Can't wait to get everybody together!

Now to find a camera flyer... and an alternate...

If anybody would like to fly camera for us, give us a shout. Smile

Actually, I was also a participant in that particular jump too, Ed. I've only been flying paying video now, since early last season. You & I have been on several big-ways together over the years. Guess I'm just not that memorable. Wink Although, as you know with bigways, that's probably actually a "good" thing. Angelic Cool

Team doing well after only 12 training jumps! Doing a tunnel trip in 2 weeks. Now if we can just get that E exit down. Laugh

Team doing very well after 14 training jumps, 2 hours of tunnel, and nailing the E exit! Averaged a 7 on last 2 training jumps.

Thanks, Matt! We're another 1-year team but we're going to see how much we can improve in just 4 short months. Cool

Update on Team:
Defunct as of June 8.

Reason:
"Irreconcilable Differences" with a teammate. (Sounds like grounds for divorce, huh. Crazy)

Lesson Learned:
If you have serious doubts up front about any candidates (for whatever reason), don't be desperate and select them.

Will I Try Again?:
In a year or two maybe.

That sucks, Ed... Team dynamic is, I think, the most complicated thing in 4 and 8 way...

Well, as Dan BC has oft said; Team dynamics are fluid! (or something like that)

I am sure you will get the Team you want!

Thanks, Matt Cline. Might take a year or two but it will happen. We haven't stopped doing 4-way though. Helaine Rumaner has jumped with us a couple weekends and that has been great. We turned 22 points (from 12 grand, of course) with Helaine. Not bad for casual 4-way though! :)
