Yes. Shoe laces are dangerous.
Times have changed. I started jumping in the early 90's and then, people genuinely worried about shoelaces. It wasn't uncommon for people to tape over their laces But people also jumped barefoot or in sandals.

Some people would have said, prior to this video; "That's never happened before, therefore it's not something to worry about." Just like the do for skydiving with hooded sweatshirts, with dangling drawstrings... But weird stuff happens at 120 mph. And sooner or later it WILL happen. Don't let it happen to you.

so it got caught on the open mount correct? There was no camera mounted to the top plate prior to the entaglement right? Just some open screws and dangling plug from a metal plate?

That's why I only belly fly. The booties we wear make it much safer.
That's funny a while back on a belly jump one of my booties came off my foot, when I turned to track it hung up briefly on another jumpers foot. It only took one little shake to get it free but it was 1 second of oh shit for both of us.
