When are the results likely to be announced?

Re: [kallend] Results? [In reply to] Can't Post

I spoke to USPA HQ and was advised that they have to enter ballots from members who renewed in December. This could take a few days to count all of them.

An example is the member who voted and renewed in December, his/her vote would count as long as they were a current member by Dec 31st.

Hopefully, by friday but who knows, staff is working hard and it may take a few extra days.

Regards,
Rich Winstock

This election should be two weeks long and in sept or oct. This way we avoid the holidays and end of the year hassle.

As it stands now if you live in the northeast all DZ's are virtually closd for the whole election making it very difficult on a candidate from that area. Move it to Sept or Oct and that would cure it.

It just seems two months is a bit ridiculous and causes a tremendous amount of strain on the staff.

Agreed, but when did logic and common sense enter into the equation?

+1

Seems to me that the Nationals issue for a given year would be the perfect edition in which to place the ballot.

It also gives the winners a longer transition time for which to prep for the first BOD meeting.

Maybe then they can post up here? Since it is Friday, and I haven't seen USPA Post yet.

Well, it is traditional that the winners and losers are notified first before the tally is made public so no surprise there.

I just hope the clear-headed folks made the cut

The results are supposed to be posted on the USPA web site sometime tonite.

All I can state is that I was re-elected.

Thanks for all the support.

When the link comes up on USPA, I'll post it.

I know it reads that way, I meant any and all... not Tom, however it is his first ND seat.

I can only hope that the incoming board has enough common sense to not repeat the stupid mistakes of the past.

Protect us from regulation, don't impose it. Do not be the first to bend over and take it in the name of "safety"

So the wing-nuts won by 633 votes, Look for the wingsuit police to show up at your DZ next year. Awesome!

Voter turn out is still less than 10% even with on-line voting.
Skydivers remain their own worst enemy.

Congrats to the new board, go forth and do good!

Personally, I think those numbers would be higher were they to ask that question now.

It wasn't the 80% we heard so much about. It is also non-binding whatever that means!?

Either way I am ready to move onward and upward! The vote has been cast. As they say in Washington it's time to put politiks aside and get down to bizness.

better late than never--- sorry I had to take some phone calls from my constituency.

Congrats to all the winners.
See you soon.

Yeah - let me know what you think about the WS vote.
BTW - I did not vote on that issue - not even the 'do not care option'

.

I'm not a fan of a rating, but am fan of standardized training administered by USPA in regards to WS.

BTW I voted no, because I don't care for making up a new rating.

Congratulations to all of those elected. As usual, I placed next to last but I will still be fully active as an advisor the the Safety and Training Committee and as the PIA's representative to the USPA BOD.

Re: [kallend] Results? [In reply to] Can't Post

Greetings and Happy New Year to all,

I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to everyone that participated in the election process. As I mentioned in my Facebook post above, I am both humbled and honored that the membership has entrusted me with the opportunity to help guide USPA over the next three years.

Having not heard anything before I hopped on a 2&1/2 hour flight to Boston out of Orlando at 4pm yesterday, I turned my cell phone off as they closed the door, and said to myself, "chances are, when this thing lands I'll know if I was elected or not". Sure enough, we landed just shy of 7pm, and as I turned on my phone, saw the "message" indicator that I had a voicemail. Pretty cool experience, I must say.

Thank you for the votes and the support, it is all incredibly appreciated and I hope to serve you well.
