GoPro HD Hero 3 huge files Can't Post

I used my new GoPro Hero 3 this weekend and took a video of my wingsuit jump. It was about 4 minutes long. The file is HUGE and took a long time to transfer to my computer. I don't want these videos to fill up the computer. Is there a setting that can make the files smaller but still have decent quality? Thanks.

"huge" is relative.
Which setting are you using? 4k isn't a huge difference from 2K in file size out of the GP3 (for example).
Either way, the compression is what it is, all you can do is reduce resolution.

Do you have ProTune turned on? This SIGNIFICANTLY increases the size. If you're not doing any serious colour correction or grading in post, you can turn it off.
