GEORGIA STATE RECORD 2011
Greetings.. I was on the GSR in 2011 (the only foreigner I believe). I was on the actual record jump and not the second one which was done to satisfy a USPA requirement. The only photo I have been able to locate is the second jump. I would like to get a copy of the first record jump. Can anybody out there help (Spence, Fortson?).
I bet Glen Crews has one.... I sure would have liked to have seen it!
Two years ago when you all tried it the first time that didn't complete, I gave a DVD copy of the '97 GA State Record video to... damn, what's his name? He co-organized it with you I believe or at least was one of the plane captains... I was hoping he would show the video to the group or something. I just remember him telling me "this is history!"

Jack Donovan co-sponsored the event with Scott Franklin and Jonathon Perl. I never heard about the DVD of the previous event! If one of these names rings a bell let me know and I'll try and track it down.
I didn't make one of the offical jumps of the first year, the team took over and did a great job missing getting the record that year by (I believe) one grip.
Needless to say to get the same group of captains back the next year along with 98% of the orginal jumpers and getting it on the second jump was sweet.
I suspect it will get beat one day (in fact I hope it does) but until someone brings three planes and a strong team it will be awhile.
In that same tradition this year we will be doing a larger POPs record beating the 29 way from last year. My hope is that we can build large enough to put that record on the shelf for a long time to.
