need help selling equipment
Can't Post
I recently inherited sky diving equipment that I want to sell. I have a Javelin harness model j3, 2 helmuts, jump suit and other clothing, goggles, etc. I'm located in central FL. Could use help with how to write an ad. Is anyone out there willing to coach me?

Hi there,
If you're in FL, and the equipment is legitimate, you shouldn't have too much trouble selling it. Check the "Dropzones" link at the top of this page, and sort through the list of skydiving clubs in FL, of which there are tons. Ask if you could speak to a rigger about inspecting the gear.
They might charge for the inspection, and ensure it's not stolen, but you would get an idea of what the equipment is worth. Then, you could post a free ad here in the classifieds, based on a rigger's recommendation of worth.

If you are in Central Florida, you could try going to one of the local DZs and asking for help. Skydive Sebastian, Zephyrhills, and Deland are all "central" Florida, have great reputations and I'm sure would help you out.

The bigger gear stores sell stuff on consignment. They inspect it, set the price, put it up for sale and sell it. Obviously, they take a cut of the money, but for someone who doesn't know much about the gear, or doesn't want the hassle of dealing with the sale, it's an option.
Chutingstar and Square one are the first that come to mind. There are others.
