Friend of Bill's in Phoenix looking for activities (BASE, Skydiving, etc.) Can't Post

I flew in last night and thought I would like to connect with some jumpers who are either jumping or doing other things today and tomorrow as well as next Friday eve and all next weekend.

I don't really know many people here and will be ambling around looking for things to do. I did bring my BASE and skydiving rigs and am ready to jump if there's some other friends looking to do the same.

Please drop me a text or give me a call at 612-382-7789 and let me know if you're free!

Do you have to be a "friend of Bill" to participate in these get-together activities?

I wont be at the DZ this weekend, and only on Sunday next week, but Eloy is back to 7 days/week. The weekends are obviously the busier days.

Then what was the point of mentioning that so visibly in the title?

Maybe so those responding will know that some entertainment options aren't going to happen?

So it was an odd way of saying; "Hey, let's get together and do something, but I'm not interested in drinking."
Got it.

You both are making assumptions which do not necessarily represent the real reason behind the OP's thread name.

My guess is that he may realize some people remember the number of asshole moves that he had pulled over the last few years and may be more willing to open communication with him if he points out that he has (supposedly) been working on dealing with his demons.

You're all over thinking it.

As a friend of Bill myself, my take was that he was looking for like-minded
individuals with a similar lifestyle to jump and/or hang out with.

Seems pretty damn easy to figure out to me.

Doesn't everyone do exactly that? Dont have to be a friend of bill
to figure that out :)

I think that "skydivers" is already a nice subset to hang out with.
I don't care to sub-divide it up into any smaller groups than that.

Nobody asked you to. You can do whatever you like Smile

Whats your stake in this discussion?

Do you feel he should post according to what you think is a nice enough subset? Wink

Speaking for myself, the drinking culture in skydiving can present a challenge to those off us that do not drink.

I see absolutely nothing wrong in the way he made his request. He wanted to find other skydivers that dont drink so he made a request that reflected this preference.

Go have a beer and enjoy your lifestyle your way, post your messages the way you like, and let everyone else do the same Smile

None. I just offered an opinion. I believe that's allowed here.

Feel free to subdivide all you want. No drinkers. No christians. No democrats. No gays. No old farts. No swoopers. No belly flyers. No pot smokers. Pretty soon you'll be jumping alone and have no one to hang out with. I try not to exclude anyone. Shame on me, I guess.

OMFG

Why can't peple just shut the fuck up when they don't have anything of any value to contribute?

I drink. I'll happily jump with you, Mr OP. I normally dont drink and jump. Wink

Oh, and I'm organizing on Sunday. Drinking at the Prop afterwards optional.

You didn't offer an opinion. You made a judgement.

When challenged you took your scenario to a ludicrous extreme in which I end up jumping alone because I have systematically excluded everyone
from the people I'm willing to hang out with.

Kinda funny actually Smile

Nope. I can state my own ideas and preferences, without it being judgmental about someone else's ideas and preferences. Otherwise, we would never have any discussions here.

Oh, and I forgot to mention fat chicks and tatooed people.

Glad to see you found the sense of humor in my post.

Hey, you can create a tattoo subset that only hangs out with people who have tattoos. At the drop zones I've seen, that seems to be close to half the people. But heck, why avoid those plain-skin folks - they're a little weird, but generally good people.
