Replacement Lens Bonehead Mamba Can't Post

I've recently got my hands on a second hand Bonehead Mamba which has been jumped about 12 - 14 times! The helmet itself is pretty much spankers but the lens has got some damage to it from - I assume - tunnel time.

Looking around at some replacements and was wondering - is it possible to get lenses for the helmet that are either dark/tinted or mirrored? Jus thought it'd be different to the usual clear ones...?

Cool

While it may be possible, it's usually not the Cool thing to do. Instructors usually won't let you wear them until you have a license. Some organizers won't let you wear them and if you get onto some sort of 4-way team, they're highly discouraged as well.

Furthermore, if you decide to get an instructional rating and use that helmet on student jumps, you'll want a clear lens (for the student, you and the other instructors if an AFF jump)

Yea sorry maybe should have also put - I'm currently still a "student" but am going to Cyprus in a few weeks on a jumps course so should come away with - or at least very close to - my B Licence and then have another 2 week course planned for the day after Cyprus so either way - by mid - end September I should be B Licence.

Just thought it'd be something different then the clear ones but I guess there's a reason they are the way they are.

Cheers

To expand on what ski said: Tinting hinders communcation. To have the others on the jump able to see your eyes is important in freefall. Don't forget that all communciation in freefall is non-verbal. If they can't see your eyes, it's hard to know if you are looking at them. It's hard to know if you saw what they "said." It's hard if not impossible to read your expression.

Maybe there's a reason that tinted visors are hard to find?
