Re: [lpstar] Really long velcro on my altimeter wrist strap

So I just got an altimaster galaxy (it arrived right after the weekend! grrrr...) and the wrist strap is really long.
I don't think my wrists are that tiny, but the excess strap sticks off ~3 inches. It's the hook kind of velcro so I'm afraid it might catch on things.
I'm sure other people have experienced this. Has it been a problem? What did you do?
With my Neptune 3 that has the piece of velcro sewn to a piece of (I think 1" tape), I simply put it on, s-folded the excess back so that there is no exposed hook and it fits perfectly, then sewed the s-fold.
Works well, I can still remove the stitching and it will be back to the same as when I got it.
If it's JUST the velcro strip (I think that's 2-3" wide) you could probably just trim the excess off. Talk to a rigger and I'm sure you could get it fixed quicker than you could fetch them a beer.
ETA: I also sewed the strap to the altimeter attachment (where it goes thru the tape that the altimeter is on). That keeps it so it goes on the exact same spot every time, and doesn't try to rotate nearly as much.
