Mirage g4 in europe
Can't Post
hi guys,
sorry if you already answer to this question but well i will ask.
i had the chance to leave in the Us for two years, during my journey i bought a really nice mirage G4 with sabre2 before going back to France.
when i wanted to repack the reserve in france they told me they were not allowed cause, from what i understood, my container is TSO123B certificate instead of TSO 123D and this is not allowed in europe...a real pain in the A$$.
It's really frustrating.
I would like to know if there is pro here, would it be possible to get a hardware modification to upgrade my container or stuff like that that will allow me to get this "D" certificate before selling it.

The French are funny people. There's nothing you can do to "upgrade" your G4 to TSO C-23d. As far as I know, TSO C-23b is not allowed only in France. You can jump that rig in any other country in Europe.
For you might be interesting to hear that Vectors were "not legal" as well till the last month. Then UPT switched their C-23b to the French QAC 121.
The funny thing is that the French national VFS team won the world championship with "illegal rigs"
I forgot some inverted commas

Yes i heard that about vector certificate, hope mirage will be allowed too...
And i guess when you said french are funny it was ironicle, if so, i concur! we can't stop making stupid rules, and it's sucks.. well, i guess I will have to sell it unfortunately, :(

1. Do they allow TSO C23c in France? 2. Since they ( the 'officials' ) cannot see the label on rserve canopies, how do they control the use of a canopy certificated under an earlier version of the TSO?

Hello, I have already seen some Mirage flying in France. You may ask another rigger to pack your reserve. But you'll risk issues with insurances (For loans for example). You'll have more answers on wwww.wuza.net

Hi Jerry,
Honestly ... I have no idea.
Jérôme Bunker and Eric Fradet are answering questions here from time to time. Maybe they will give some insights why TSO C-23b is not recognized in France.
