Go Pro Hero vs Contour

How do people choose between these two products? I've searched this site for comaprison threads, but missed them if the exist.
I'm looking for a "simple" camera to put on top / center of a helmet.
GoPro seems most popular, has many mounts, has cool LCD back to simplify aiming / after dive reviewing BUT the on-helmet mounting applications I've seen looks like awesome snag potential.
Contour seems easy to mount, not so easy to aim or review video AND seems to have less snag potential <yes, I know, all helmets / cams / etc increase snag potential>
I'm not a pro viddy guy. Will probably never use image editing SW. Both seem to offer similar resolution Just want to document some WS flights. My phone is a BBY, so no access to apps that control the GP or Contour.
Right now I'm leaning towards Contour product despite the poularity of GP. Any comments?
Craig, I have both; you're welcome to try em'. There is also the RePlay, which is more Contour-like than anything. Contour has a few ease-of-use factors that beat the GP in my opinion. GP and RePlay have the Contour significantly beat for mounts.
Aiming is easy with the contour, it has a laser to show you where you're pointing, so helmet setup is very easy.
Resolution is identical on the two. If resolution is your main priority, then you might look at the new Sony, although it has fewer mounting options, it has the largest native sensor of any of the action cams available, so low light is better, stabilization is better, colors are more natural.
Thanks Spot, I'll take advantage of your offer. i see that Contour can also use apple touch for interface. i think that I have one of them in a drawer somewhere. Craig

Here's what they sent me when I asked. It's set to be released in Fall of 2012.
Thanks for contacting Sony!
