Ola everyone, Newbie here (yay! Another noob post!!!). I've been reading the forums for a while-did my first tandem a few years ago, finished AFF this summer-working on the A, or rather will be when the weather warms. I also live 7 hours away from the nearest drop zone, so it's a challenge to travel. Anyhoo, I have an altimeter, but I really want a helmet, but not one of those super-dee-duper fancy ones, just one that can last me a few years- recommendations? Merci in advance. meh
I vote Benny, too. They're reasonably priced, actually fit my head shape, & have generous amounts of padding (unless you need an XL). The shell only comes in one size. So, size is determined by the pad set. The smaller your head. The thicker the protection is. I'm very happy w/my size large. New pad sets are only $20. Sorry to read you have to drive SEVEN HOURS to get to a DZ... I thought most of OZ's population was centered around two cities, along one coast?
Sometimes I camp... sometimes I leave at 4am, jump all day, and drive home (5 hours each way, as I stay at my parents on days when I do that)-depends on the work schedule. The classifieds are good for gear, but some of the helmets seemed a little too techie for what I was looking for... Thanks for the advice!
