As an asides to BB's report, Christopher Irwin sprained his ankle on the distance event as he stomped the bulls eye, as he was laying slightly off to the left of the course Nathan came in and stomped on the target and broke a bone in his foot and chipped another bone. Christopher went and iced, taped, braced, and then went back up to finish the meet gutting out a 5th place, unfortunately Nathan will be out for a little while. This was the first time I had seen one of these meets and I am really impressed with the distance some of these guys can milk out of their canopies, some were 40' outside of the course, kicked almost all of the pylons and still blew out the other side by at least another 40', on the Main landing area at Eloy that is "coast to coast" and then some.

As an aside to Gordo's...the swoop pond was initiated with it's first dunking today...by our own Neal Houston of Airspeed. Neal looked great as he drug a toe across the pond only to end up face first in the water. Yeah he stalled his canopy whilst wearing one of Freeflite's suits and then slid into the dirt at the far end of the pond. Good thing he was wearing a full face helmet or he would have been eating that dirt....for days! Neal walked away unscathed albeit covered in mud, was good natured about it and took several bows on his way back to the hangar. McGowan took pictures of the aftermath. God love Mike!
