Poem in the back of one of the 'Skies Call books' Can't Post

Hi,
I've been trying to find any one who can remember or has access to the 'Skies Call series'

In the very back of one of the volumes, was a poem about what you'd do if you had your life over again.

I can't remember whether it was in volume 1, 2 or 3, but the last line was something about having all the money you'd ever had and spending it on Jumping......

It finished something like:-

'.....and spend every single cent I had and Jump and Jump and Jump.........'

Can anyone tell me what volume it was in and/or send me this poem?

Equally, does any one know who it's by?
Was it ever published elsewhere?

Any help, much appreciated!

Matthew

Must be in the original book as it's not in II or III.

I'm glad you asked, though, as it gave me a reason to peruse again those great photos, including the inverted Cessna jump (Phil Rogge, SCIII, #12), which is the coolest skydiving photo I've ever seen.

It's in the original Skies Call. Got a copy of it at the DZ.

Hi Matt,

Here you go:

THE JUMPER

If I could retrieve the fortune I have spent
Worrying where it came from, not caring where it went,
I could live the heady lifestyle of Playboy magazine
I would see the worldly sight that still remain unseen.

It must amount to thousands I’ve squandered on the sport
The mark of any jumper, a balance close to naught,
But if I had it back in one financial lump I’d go south in the winter
And jump and jump and jump.

I thought it was, "Man small, why fall? Skies call, that's all."?

I love the Skies Call trilogy! I've had all three books fanned out on my coffee table at home, ever since I bought the coffee table! (thanks for letting me 'borrow them' dad!)

IIRC it was also in 'United We Fall', an anthology put out by Pat Works years and years ago. In any case, lotsa good stuff in that book.

Hi V6,

Actually, the thanks should go to John Rich who sent it to me a few years ago.
