C License written test - North/South Carolina?
Can't Post
I am in Greenville SC and Charlotte NC this week and I would like to do the C license written test if possible.
Is there anybody that is able to help me out with doing this? I don't know if it just has to be a rated USPA instructor, or if any other restrictions apply.
Willing to provide for the help.
I may not be back in the US for some time, and I'd like to get this checked off.

And here I thought you were one of the ones who actually read the SIM.
SIM 3-1 C
3. Jumps to meet skill requirements must be signed by a USPA Instructor, Instructor Examiner, Safety & Training Advisor, or a member of the USPA Board of Directors.
SIM 3-1 D
4. Signature Verification: Applications for all licenses must be signed by an appropriate official (as listed in this Section) before the application is forwarded to USPA Headquarters. a. USPA Instructors may verify A, B, and C licenses. b. S&TAs, I/Es, and USPA Board members may verify any license application. 5. Federation Aeronautique Internationale
SIM 3-2 A
2. For B, C, and D licenses, the examining USPA official: a. gives the applicant an answer sheet and the questions to the exam (1) No references or other assistance are permitted during the exam. (2) After the test, the examining official collects the materials and grades the exam. (3) A score of 75% is required to pass. b. The score is recorded on the license application and in the applicant’s logbook. (1) The applicant not passing will be eligible to retake this exam after seven days. (2) To qualify for a higher license, the applicant must possess a USPA license, meet all qualifications for lower licenses, and have passed all lower-class license exams.

Ooops thanks Andy. Not a good start to asking about a test on the SIM
Do most instructors have a copy of the test or is it held at the DZ? I was planning on giving Skydive Carolina a call as I will be driving past there. Sadly I won't be down in the Georgia area, or I'd be hassling you for this

DZ only...unless somebody copied it and kept it. If somebody copied it for personal use, they violated the intent of the "proprietary" nature of the documents.
And yes, it has happened....freakin' bozos in my book.

Overheard two students talking...
stu1: I need to get some things signed of on my A card.
stu2: Go to Andy. He'll help you out.
stu1: Oh, hell no! He's too strict!
Made my day.
What? You mean you actually make sure the students actually understand the concepts behind the stuff they have to learn?
You don't just let them parrot back the answer to pass?
What kind of instructor actually makes the students learn???
I've never understood the people who don't like understanding how our gear works and the technical aspect of the sport. But then I know I am an engineering geek.

This reminds me of a group of experienced jumpers at a SC DZ who would not attempt their demo rating jumps at a particular DZ - because the DZSO abided by the rules. They all went to a DZ closer to the coast and in a few weeks came back flashing their newly obtained Demo Ratings. Funny how no one employed them to do any demos.

I hope you're not implying that I am trying to do that? For what it is worth STF (where popsjumper is) has been my "home" dz as I was travelling through Atlanta regularly. This is probably my last trip to the US for some time and I want to get as much USPA license stuff signed off as possible and I'm not able to squeeze in a trip to Georgia. Popsjumper has been my skydiving mentor since getting back into the sport.
I have spoken to SC and there will be people around tomorrow and Friday so I am taken care of thanks.
