USPA should be ashamed of themselves. If they had something that would provide the updates that USPANationals.com did then ok, spend my dues on a cease and desist. But they offer nothing, Omniskore is a joke and the Skydive Chicago site offers nothing but a few team pictures. Way to go USPA!!! Way to generate buzz!

Skydive Carolina is updating all results on their website:

http://www.skydivecarolinanationals.com/skydivecarolinanationals.com/Results.html

What does the "G" mean in the results?

G=guest (a non-US citizen on the team. They can complete but cannot take medals.

"G" means "Guest Team". At least one member is a non-U.S. Legal resident. They can still compete but cannot earn a medal.

In reply to:
Omniskore is a joke

Omniskore is not even on site.
Yet we are able to rank scores after a complete round and not do the weird shuffle of standings that SDC shows.

try this link 4-way Open
and compare to SDC listings

Anything Omniskore provides for this year's Nationals is gravy.
You wanna bitch about free stuff go ahead.

Why is it that we've taken a giant technological leap backwards? I think I remember the WPC for CF in 1998(?) having streaming video for each round.

Why have we gone back to what amounts to people posting spreadsheets after the rounds are scored?

Jan, thanks for trying.

Folks... Jan is not running the show, she is not even in the same state.

I'd like to know who the hell in the USPA decided to yank the plug without a suitable replacement!!!! I mean sure if they had another option... But they didn't.

SDC's site at least has all the scores on it now.

I'm really blown away by Air Force Impulse. They are 12 points ahead of the second place team in round two already for Intermediate. Their average right now is at a 19. Has any other Intermediate team ever averaged near that? Looking at the last few results it seemed that mid 13-mid 14 was Gold medal range. No one else is even close to their scores...

Air Force Impulse has a 6 pt lead over 2nd place Spaceland Mamba after R1.
It would be unfair to state that they have a 12 pt lead over "2nd" place when Mamba has not jumped R2 yet.

Nice ave for them - maybe they are all seniors??

Jan, all the Air Force cadets at Natty's are seniors.
These teams really put a lot of effort in this year. Looks like its paying off them them.

Eric,
Im not sure about the passed years averages but the first three teams look pretty good.

Its separated by jump numbers, (i think)

I don't know the exact number that each class is separated but I think its purely jump numbers.

Re: [jtval] Nats results [In reply to] Can't Post

It's separated by what you chose to participate in and what points and such you have to do.

They ended with a more reasonable average, but yeah at the start it was looking a little crazy.

8-way draw is happening like, right now.

Nope, there are no requirements other then no more then 50% of a team can have won Gold in Intermediate and I think no medalists from higher levels to be in that level. No jump numbers or other requirements. Lots of the Advanced teams chose to go more difficult for the challenge even though they would be within the rules to go Intermediate and to have a better shot at a medal.

Knowing the Airforce team has no more then 14 months experience and no more then 500 jumps a person is just amazing.

Only the one criteria - no more then 50% of a team can have won Gold or higher

I don't think just generic medalists is a criteria also. but now I'm not sure.

I'd rather see round 1 be a 'qualifying' round and then the teams are assigned to the category based on the results (with the option to OPT in a higher level, but not lower). I'd think that would allow for a more competitive field.

Either that, or maybe have intermediate be split into two. There always seems to be two groups in intermediate (the small group of about 5-7 teams that score double digits - then a whole pile of teams that cover the 5-10 range) - lately, it takes 12+ to medal - no diff this year.

The full dive pool is split - OPen and advanced
Why not the partial dive pool as well - upper and lower intermediate groups

I understand the military teams really had to brave the weather with their huge canopies that are required of them (another example of the gov choosing for you what's best and safe). Great perseverance guys - I'm always impressed with the academy teams - great kids.
