Carl Nelson Sr. FB#1500	Can't Post

Carl Nelson Sr., father of Carl Nelson (FB #1) and Roger Nelson (FB#2), passed away yesterday (1/2/2010).

I met Carl back at Skydive Sandwich in the 80's when he and his wife, Pat, ran a little deli on the DZ. He was a great guy who always made time for you.

He's the one who brought Carl and his brother out to Camp Lake Wisconsin for their first jump. Must have been tough to loose 2 boys.

He was one hell of a good guy and a warrior.

He was there on D-Day and served with valor.

He will be missed.

I hope Ma is OK

My condolences to Matthew and Melissa, Carleen
Jeanie and the rest of the Nelson clan.

I will tell Dana, he will attend the services in our stead.

Where they going to be held? AZ?

Do you guys want a Military Honor Guard?

I haven't heard any specific details on the services yet. I did read that there was going to be a memorial service and ash dive at Skydive Chicago later this year.

I will post details as they become available.

The one good thing is he gets to be with his sons now and also all those he served with who passed during the war.

He will have many friends welcoming him.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our friend Carl Sr. The memorial service was held at Skydive Chicago, followed by an ash jump over the DZ.

I was there and it was a very nice service, pics look great. Are you going to post any pics from the dive itself ? Looked awesome from the ground.....thanks
