M2 or M3.Depending on which size reserve you have.

An M2 and with that an optimum 160 would the the biggest reserve canopy you could fit into it i think!

Mike is spot on! I asked Rusty (of PD) info for a Pulse 170, 190, & 210 and for the 170 Rusty's reply matched Mike's. Rusty said for the optimal fit on a Pulse 170 = M3 (meaning not too tight not too soft) of course you can go one size up or down for a softer/tighter fit though. I just ordered my Pulse if you get to it before me please post a review. Aside from the "few" reviews here it was hard to get opinions on this canopy.

... my dealer says I should take 1 Size up (have 60 jumps, weight 88kg / 176 lbs):

Main PD Pulse 190 (will downsize to 170 next 2-3 years)
Reserve PD Optimum 176

is the M3 container ok or too tight?

M3 would work just fine with the Pulse 190 main.

The Optimum 176 is not available yet, so you would need a PDR-160.

MO with Pulse 170 and X Fast 150 reserve fits nicely.
All new in 2010.
