Hello from the Buckeye state Can't Post

Hello to all I wanted to start off by giving thanks to the administrator and moderators of this site.I have been on here reading valuable information from numerous posts which has helped me quit a bit.My name is Don I did my first of three tandem jumps Oct. 2002 and I can honestly say it was the most beautiful experience I have ever had in my 33 yrs. of life, since then all I can really concentrate on is starting my student training. For me it was something I watched on TV and said ooooh I want to try that not for the speed or rush but when I seen a skydiver I seen a thing that I can only describe as beauty, pure and simple.Well before I bore you all to death with my ramblings I just want to say hello to all of you beautiful freefalling humans that trully live your lives to the fullest

Hey Don
yeah, skydiving is a beuatiful thing, huh. I like to say Bad Ass though, that way my friends don't look at me funny.Smile

I used to look out of the window on flights to vacation spots and wonder what it would be like out there with the clouds. I even spent a little too much time gazing out of Vegas hotel windows wondering what the fall would be like. Skydiving is where its at.

Did I say Hi?

After I jumped I tried to find someone that might want to go with me,boy was I surprised I thought everyone wanted to jump out of an airplane. I then got all the questions of why and what for. I don't even try to answer I just shake my head and look up. I know why and thats good enough for me

Welcome to the forums! Smile I'm so glad you're already taking the time to visit the site and learn about the sport before you go through your training. You should be ahead of the game by the time you finally get up in the sky. Woohoo!

Re: [skymama] Hello from the Buckeye state [In reply to] Can't Post

I took the time to research before I did my 1st tandem, took the 4th weekend to find the place I went to and it was well worth the wait.I met some of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. They took the time to approach me and find out what I was wanting to do.The first weekend I just watched/lurked didn't even try to inquire about anything a skydiver landed took off his rig and started talking with me, told me instead of going straight into AFF to try a tandem 1st,glad I took his advice.I feel it gave me some insight to what was to be expected, the next weekend I took my first plane ride wow what a view 10500 ft.door opens I look out (1st jumper in line)and I new right then this was the thing I had been searching for total freedom. The next weekend I did 2 more tandem jumps weather got cold and I started searching the web when I found this site.It is really nice to be able to learn while waiting for weather to break.I am very anxous to get started. Thanks to all for the nice welcome this site kicks butt

Welcome to the forums, and if there is one thing you'll never be able to do that's bore a bunch of skydivers by talking about skydiving and how beautiful it is.Smile

I cannot hardly stand the wait any longer.I find myself consumed with this its in everything I do and think, man I am ready just need a little heat. I read a post a day or two ago and they talked of temps. in the 60's sounded so wonderful, but makes me itch that much more ,I can see myself doing a little winter traveling next year, either south or west, hopefully if all is right with the universeCool

Re: [DivinDon] Hello from the Buckeye state [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey Don,

welcome to our sky... it is an amazing place, and you'll find with each jump that it becomes more and more amazing.

so Cincinnati eh, another one in the making. i live on the eastside near the kenwood mall. there is a good little contingent of us here that jump in Richmond, Indiana as well. I go to both Richmond and Greene County. Check them both out, you'll find friendly people everywhere. But it is a good idea to not change dropzones for your training, just for consistency and so that the staff knows you and knows how you've been taught. But when you get your A license, you'll find it's always cool to check out new dropzones. if you're bored this time of year in cincinnati, i feel your pain...

need to know anything local, give me a shout.

peace
