Power tool & cypres cord? Can't Post

I have made several power tools ,but they don't last long before either the cord gets to tight on the metal shaft or it loosens and don't stay tight enough any more . I have stitched them with needle and thread to but it's not a solution either. How is this done ? I'm guessing maybe heating the cord to melt it a bit ?

i just did the 'no-sew' fingertrap thing about half an inch from the eye. i made the fixed end as tight as i could, and then i tightened the removable end tight around the body of the tool so that it would stay i the groove, but i didn't have to fight with it to get it off.

i just redid both of mine with Cypres loop. figure trapped the entire length 3/4 and 1/4. 1/4 loop back figure trap on the end that says on and 3/4 the length one the loop end. curious how long they will last.

I did my cord for power-tool twice. It is made from cypres cord. I finger trapped both and and stitch it too.
