Does anyone know of any website or publication that goes into jumpsuit construction, materials, ECT.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Try this web site. I had her make me a suit about 6 years ago and I still get people asking me if I just got a new suit. I heard she was in a car accident not long ago so you might have a hard time getting a hold of her. http://www.airwear-by-wendy.com/fabrics.htm

Suplex from Dupont seems to be the best fabric for freefly suits of medium or light weight. Polycotton is used for suits needing even more drag then Cordoroy is also used for those that are a greased anvil fall rate to slow thm down. On RW the front is the special material usually, Suplex is a medium fall rate, 1.9 ox Nylon is a fast rate, ZP is superfast and polycotton will slow you way down. Spanex on the arms and Codura on the booties usually.

French fled seams double stitched are very common in useage too. Straight seems blow apart way too easy.

Thanks to you and the other post below yours. The website you listed provided me with some of the information I was looking for. I am having an old "X" brand suit I jumped years ago made new. The person doing the work is very good but needed some information. It has big wings (as I resemble the "greased anvil" fall rate type Sly referred to in the other post), and I love flying it, and the others I jump with like it because they don't have to stand on their heads to keep up with me. (OK OK, I know Unimpressed, freeflyers love to chase meSmile.

Anyway

Thanks to both of you for your help.

I've got heavy cotton (demium) on the legs and arms of my jumpsuit due to having what I call a "healthy fallrate" but then again, this is on a FF suit. If it was a RW suit, then I would probably have most of the the front of the suit made out of cordura to slow my happy ass down.

I have a brand new Tony Suit made of the slowest material they now offer (polycotton). My Skytronics shows my average speed now at 130 mph up from 120 in my other old suit.

My ass is always happy getting out of the plane but I have to go slow enough to get others to play with meUnsure

I can't tell you how many times I've heard. "you fall like a home sick bowling ball!" Looking at buying a baggier suit to help. Let me know how yours turns out. I'm tired of dearched skydives and still craining my neck while falling below the formation Crazy

I know my old "X" brand works well. I am now looking at suits listed on the website posted (below) by LouDiamond. She looks to have a suit she can build with us sky anvils in mind. So, once I get my new (old) suit back I think I will order one up from her!!!

Thanks LouCool
