Hi! I'm kind of new to the forums. I've posted a few replies. Reading over the posts it seems like many of you really know each other pretty well. How many hours per day do you spend on the site? Also, any jumpers from Ma? I've only done a few tandems - planning on doing AFF in the spring. Was counting on using my bonus money to pay for that, but, my company is not giving bonuses this year. Hopefully I will be able to save enough money.
Hey Jess, I believe Id be in the same boat as F1Freak Im just a skybum and well I think its safe to say I eat sleep and live skydiving so most of my time is spent in the air and the rest is spent well here at least for now....hehehe But welcome to the board and the world of skydiving.

Hi Jess, welcome to the forums! Yes, some of us do know each other pretty well. A lot of us are at the same dz's and others we have made a point on traveling to meet. But, don't be fooled, the person you might think you know on the forums may be a little different in person, for better or for worse. Me...well, I've been pleasantly surprised every time! Most of us who are on here a lot are on the site while we are supposed to be working. Ssssh...don't tell, it's our dirty little secret.
There are a few of us here, and some lurkers. I'm actually in RI, but when I jump at home, it at Pepperell or Orange. I think you can do a search in the member directory by state and/or dz.
I did my tandems at Boston-Providence Skydiving Center in Lincoln. Everyone there was real nice. I was originally going to go to Pepperell, but, Lincoln was closer.

It would make sense for me to jump there (45 minute drive vs 2+ hours), but round reserves are apparently illegal in RI (They at least don't allow them at B-P). Go figure...
Have you ever jumped there? How often do you go to the DZ? That's one hell of a drive. I'm real new to this, so this may sound like a stupid question - what would make someone choos a round reserve over others?

lol! It came with the rig I bought used from my rigger. David Hersey, awesome guy. It still works great, landings just suck. I may a bit "large" for it as well.
I haven't been jumping since my kid was born. My choice. I'll probably start back up again in the Spring, one or two weekends a month. Hopefully I will get new gear this summer, and can jump more often at B-P.
BTW, 2 hours in only a long way in New England. I did the same drive every weekend I was in California, it didn't seem like such a big deal.
You would have loved it if you had NEEDED it Rounds aren't that bad, well if it's not too windy Jump number thirteen for me--round reserve ride, but hell all my mains had been round up till that point. It's' all good
