some 300-way pics Can't Post

Here are some pics from my chest mount camera. They need to be rotated 180 - can someone do that and repost them? I can't do that on my little laptop.

Michele,

I hear ya!Smile
In my opinion, the 2 best places to be on a big way would be smack dab in the center as part of the base(cuz they deply first) or all the way on one of the outer rings (cuz they track first and farthest!) Bill was part of the 100 way base, and that's just scary!!Shocked

Thanks for the pics, Bill! I am still amazed at how incredible everyone on that skydive is! I love the breakoff picture....I can't imagine what's it's like to turn around and still see that many people!

What were the altitudes involved? (eg formation complete, breakoff etc)

The cameraman below the formation in the yellow jumpsuit (Norm Kent I am guessing) is in a very...interesting....spot. I'd take any other slot before I'd take that one!

But I bet he has some fabulous video and stills from down there!

I dunno...my choice spot on a bigway is on the ground watching it. Maybe in about 42,000 jumps I'll feel differently, but manohman, that's a scary picture. Keep in mind too that my concept of a bigway is anything more than 6 people. And even 6 was scary for me...

Well done, and congratulations to everyone who participated, be they pilots, crew, or jumpers.

On that note, my personal "scary" was the experience of another formation belly flyer tracking off-course through my main, taking out my deploying line groups with his helmet. Fortunately, the event contributed to my freeflying migration once I decided to continue with this sport.

300-way planar formations are a tremendous achievement; large interactive spherical formations will lead to even greater achievements, assuming anti-gravity belts don't appear anytime soon.

Re: [Sonic] some 300-way pics [In reply to] Can't Post

Jump altitude was 21k. 300-way formation held for approx 7.2 seconds. First puller from base was 7k. Temp at altitude was -15F to -25F. Incidents were one cypress deployment and 5 or 6 cutaways, one broken ankle and one messed up knee. Quite a statement for safety and the expertise of all the participants including all the pilots.
