should it be a Sabre 170 or a 190

If my exit weight is 171 lbs and I am a novice but with good canopy skills would it ok for me start with a a Sabre 170 as opposed to a Sabre 190 or would I be pushing it. On a scale of 10 ( with 10 as highly recommended ) what would you feel about using a Sabre 170 instead of a 190. Just need to see what people feel about it.

I started on a saber 170 with about 25 jumps. I weigh almost 200 out the door and that was fine for me. You'd probably be able to handle it just fine, being that you're only loading it at 1:1. I say gor for the 170.

I was flying a PD190 when my A license was shiny and new. At 66 jumps I'm still flying it at 1.28 wing load. It is fast enough for me to have fun yet slow enough that I am thankful when I am landing out or havent jumped in two weeks and do something stupid on final( as I did two weeks ago). All in all it has been a great canopy for me and yes I can get a little crazy with a hook turn and some surf. Not as impressive as the Icarus Redicarous (Skymonkeyone) flyers out there but I'm still learning and dont wish to kill myself anytime soon. The fact that your canopy choices were at that wing loading is a good sign. Keep your safety in mind!
