cheaper aff?
Can't Post
is there anyway i could cut the cost down on an aff course. could i get someone to teach me theory and do my jumps at the dz? could you get friends who are jm s to teach you at the dz for a smaller fee?any ideas are very welcome
You could become a packer for a year or so and make friends with all the jm's, then ask them if they will do your aff jumps for the price of their slots-LOL
Yes but the requirements are stiff!!!(Pun intended) You must be 5'4", blonde, 110 lbs, with measurements in the 38,28,36 range and have a shiny new set of knee pads....
i know where you can shove that pun.anyways i wanna learn how to pack and hopefully that could cut my costs.thanks for your info.i would be better of wiping my ass with sandpaper and reading the message my ass sent me. white skies splat dives peder

You want my honest opinion? I know at my DZ the answer is NO. Trying to get a J/M to teach you on the offsides for cheaper is like going into a grocery store that your friend works at and having him knock off 25% because he knows you. ITs a place of business. Now on the other hand you can learn to become a packer and use that money you make to help with your training! Again this is just what I know from my DZ!

P.s sorry about the jokes we'er all kinda crazy around here
Ummmm...packing chutes??? I like a girl that likes it that way...LMAO Sorry Udder....Seriously...if you want to learn to pack I'm sure there are plenty of skydivers at your local DZ that would be happy to teach you. On the AFF deal though....people have spent a great deal of their time and money getting that rating. It's not something you just sign up for and they rightly expect to paid for their skill. The only people I know that get discounts is the hotties that are dating someone. Just the facts Ma'am.
My friends have mentioned that they know someone who's actually spent a few months just packing at their DZ, and they paid for their AFF like that. Ask the guys at your DZ, they might be ok with it.
You could always just bag the AFF idea, and find a good DZ that offers a good static line class. It gets you jumping, and the training is also good, and effective, with less money up front.
Packing is a good idea, but there is normally a crew for that, and it is a slow return to earn a jump. As a dzo here in Georgia I have traded AFF jumps for mowing work, auto repair, painting, cooking and things mostly grounds related. Many a student has traded a one day job for a jump. Look around your dz and offer ideas for improvements that you can take care of alone and do well, then make a deal. Every skydiver has a wide range of talents they bring to the dz. Trade yours for aff talent.
