hiya!
Can't Post
Let's see... I've been lurking around here for a couple of months now, but I guess since there's a whole forum for posting a new 'hello' I should probably go ahead and do it, finally....
I started jumping this summer, got through AFF pretty quickly, got addicted, got my A license, and then school started *sigh*.......... SO, I'm off on these horrid hectic research trips, so I'm gone practically every weekend, when I would MUCH rather be at the dz!!
Which means that for the last five days or so, I've been sitting here at the beamline (in lab, basically), playing online 24/7, reading about jumping since I can't actually be jumping
But I get back from this latest (and hopefully last!) trip Friday, so I'm (crossing fingers here) jumping this weekend!! yay!
Welcome! I'm new to posting as well... I'm kinda getting hooked on these forums though. (Guess I'm not busy enough at work!) Did you make it out to Perris last month during the JFTC event? It was pretty awesome. I hope you get some air soon
This does get you hooked -- No, I didn't make it out during JFTC; I was on a frikkin research trip the whole time. I was there a couple of weekends beforehand, so I did see lots of pink jumpsuits practicing
That's a term of an "endearment" used for an area of really radical turbulence in their landing area at Raeford. When the winds are up, it's best to stay out of that area (The Dragon's Lair).

Welcome! I am seeing that you get to have balance in your life; to have your skydiving life and your academic life as well. It will all pay off big in the long run, so stay healthy and hang in there!
Couldn't have said it better myself, Kris. Cool thing is if ya learn to respect the Dragon early in life, ya can keep from getting bitten here or most anywhere else.
we were playing with a new toy; digital camera. with lots of fun settings. I was gonna put a pic that's like in nightvision -- all green and washed out -- but decided not to; this'll do
