Night Jump this Saturday!! WOOHOO!
Can't Post
I might be doing my first night jump on Saturday, depending on what the S& TA says.
What is the requirement for night jumps? I have 56 jumps, turned 15 points on a four way, water training, etc. so I have the equivalent of a B license, though I haven't applied.
Can anyone give me advice & tips about doing night jumps?
(And yes, I fully realize I'm gonna owe beer!)

The BSR's say B license requirements which you already have so it shouldn't be an issue.
My advice is that you have fun, and make sure you altimeter is well illuminated. Oh yeah, and make sure you have all those lights and glow sticks firmly attached lest they depart from you at deployment.

make sure you keep your eyes scanning under canopy. do not look in any one spot too long.

also for strobes i prefer bright blinking led types (the kind sold in bike shops) instead of xenon lamp strobes. they are less costly so you can have 3 or 4 on you , are more visable and tend not to blind you.

Also...I'm pretty sure there's an FAR regarding the type of light, at least the distance the light must be visible from. Don't think a flashlight would cut it.
