Just received email from colleagues in Bangkok. Everything is more or less calm and they await the situation to be back to normal (whatever that is) soon.
From the news it looks loke the King is agreeing with the military. The guy in charge is said to be a close confident with the royals. Elections are expected in 1 years time and inbetween the military wants to give back power in the next 2 weeks to someone out of the political arena.
No, armed forces had to come up with something for the birthday of the king. That is how the first world team in thailand happened as one guy of the airforce thought of the record being a good idea. While the king might enjoy it, he is not the driving force. M.
