Jumpsuit!
Can't Post
So I've made 20 jumps... and I am thinking about putting an order in for a jumpsuit since it takes 6 weeks to make. I don't know if I should order a freefly suit or a RW suit... In the future I would like to do some freeflying...maybe sit fly perhaps or something of that nature... but I need to learn more stuff on my belly for now..
Do most young jumpers go for the RW suit with booties... or get a freefly suit?
I was just thinking the exact same thing you know. I have the money for a jumpsuit but im struggling to decide. I want to get a little better at belly flying then turn to the dark side but i cant afford 2 suits!
... go for the RW suit, most definitly, Tony Suits are good and so are Bev Suits and Michigan Suits... old school used to be get your first RW suit without booties, but these days, most get booties from the get-go...
I think you should learn to fly your body before you add booties. It will make you better in the long run. Wearing booties under 50 jumps seems like a bit of a bad idea unless you have tunnel access.
Save your money, go old school. You don't need a suit to jump, there's lots of suitable/save clothing off the shelf to jump in [always doublecheck with your instructors]. Don't rush into buying something, also lots of 2nd hand suits usually knocking around in other jumpers closets. Welcome to the Skies

AMEN. You don't need an expensive jumpsuit this early in your carreer - or ever, for that matter. I usually wear an old military flight-suit and can keep up with just about anyone - fast or slow. You don't have to worry about being a "designer sky-diver"...you know, the type that has to have a suit that matches his rig, a canopy that matches the rig, just the right color combo, but must have a contrasting pilot chute, etc, etc. Save your money and buy jumps. Get good before you get "pretty".

Just to chuck in a contrary opinion, I am a slow faller and a custom fit tight suit made a significant difference to my fall rate - can focus a bit on flying your body rather than just arching as hard as you can to keep up, or wearing a ton of weights...
I've been told by everyone I jump with that I'm a slow faller.. I jump with grown men.. and I'm not so much as big... so I would like to get a jumpsuit to aid in my flying!

I'll happily disagree with you. Booties are just control enhancers - you still need to fly your body.
I like the booties in the air, but I have to put them on before I get in the plane and remember to take them off before I land, so it adds to my gear checks.
I'm a slow faller so my suit is super tight, almost too tight. Will the suit stretch at all? I have a bev suit.
