SONY SONY SONY SONY SONY	Can't Post

Now that I have your attention.

I am missing a few of those annoying little screws, that loosen frequently, from my SONY DCR-PC105.

I called the nearest SONY service centre and they want $5 each.

This is either a M1.4 x 1.4 or a M1.7 according to the guy at the service centre.

Does anyone know of a source with REASONABLE pricing for these screws?

I recall seeing someone post in here who said the worked for SONY, but couldn’t find them with the search function.

I’d like to hear from them.

I am not sure what "M1.4 x 1.4" is, but here are some similarly priced (though slightly cheaper) M1.4 variants on microfasteners.com.

The price is not necessarily unreasonable. I doubt it's cheap to make a screw that tiny and precise.

In the developed world we use the metric system.
M1.4 would be a thread diameter of 1.4 millimeters, the other measurement (in this case also 1.4) would be the thread length.

M1.4 is the metric thread size

x 1.4 means it is 1.4mm long

it is a countersunk phillips head screw

and if I'm paying $5 for a fastener it had better be very special, like Titanium-special and these are not...

I have a trv20 which years ago freefell to the ground when I opened.
I searched for it and found it, all smashed up.
It hit trees... Unsure

anyway I still have it and it has more than a dozen
of sony's "standard" ( for that era ) phillips head screws.... Unimpressed

How many do you need???

i pulled 7 of them off the camera and will mail on thurs. 4-6-06
might take a while to make it's way to you..
lemme know when you get them...It is good to think that at least some small part(s) of this trv 20 will make it back into freefall Unimpressed
