A few questions about your DZ & equip Can't Post

I've been stewing on this for a while, I just want to get an idea of what other DZ's are like, so I'll run through some Q's.

Landing Area:
Do you have different areas, and who is allowed to land where. (include beach jumps, oval jumps etc.)
What size are these area's.
Distance from the DZ.

Student Gear:
Container type. (FF Friendly etc.)
Canopy types and sizes.
Deployment type.
Cutaway/Reserve activation.

I think thats all for now, Cheers everyone.

I'll start us off.

Landing Area: We have a student zone about 2kms from the DZ thats is used for your training tandem and your first solo landing (AFF1). 50m round with another km of cleared area.
Also have another Student landing zone about 100m from the DZ used untill you get your A Licence. 25m round with another km of cleared area.
The A Grade zone about 20m from the DZ for the rest. About 20m round. Real Grass!!!
We do beach jumps at Point Sampson and Port Walcot and often do jumps at the Tambrey Pub Oval, you need a B licence and a Display D to do these.

Student Gear:
Wings Containers. (FF Friendly)
Hickster 240 x2
Sabre 190
Sabre 170
BOC Throwaway/Collapsible PC
Two Action Operation, RSL, also if Silver is pulled Main is cutaway (same as SOS)
Cypres 2

Pics of student rigs.

Sorry probably shouldn't be in S&T

At Pitt Meadows, we only have one landing field and it is maybe 50 meters from the hangar that we use for packing, manifest, instruction, etc.
Most jumpers land near the middle and there is a separate "swoop lane" in one corner that everyone else is told to avoid.

Our older Sidewinder containers are not free-fly friendly, but newer Sidewinders are.
First jump students start with Skymaster 290, Manta 290 or Solo 270 main canopies.
We also have a 288 over 340 student container for big boys (more than 220 pounds or 100 kg).
After they have demonstrated a series of good landings, students transition to Skymaster 230 mains, then Hornet 190s.
All our student rigs have Tempo 250 reserves, with Tempo 170 reserves in transition and rental rigs.

Javelin student rigs with Mantas, and Falcons, Raiders and PDR's
Fun jumpers rental may have triathalions or other type. I do not think we have one canopy under 190 sq. ft. The landing area is HUGE, an entire airfield with a 1/2 mile poured runway down the middle.
