Vlaams (Flemish) is not a language it's a dialect.
From Wikepedia: Dutch (Nederlands) is a West Germanic, Low German language spoken worldwide by around 24 million people, mostly in the Netherlands and Belgium. The varieties of Dutch spoken in Belgium are also informally called Flemish (Vlaams). Dutch is sometimes called Netherlandic in English.
Flemish (Vlaams) is the term used for the various dialects of Dutch spoken in Belgium. Most Flemings consider themselves to be speakers of Dutch as do most linguists. An exception is SIL International, which has classified the the dialect group as a separate language and granted it a unique language code.
