Dropzones in Oklahoma? Can't Post

Would anyone recommend any dropzones located near Ft. Sill Oklahoma? I was recently commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army and I will be there from late May till October while I attend Officer Basic Course.

Dropzone Search

putting in 73503 zipcode results in 1 dropzone within 100 miles of Fort Sill.

Depending on how far and long you want to drive, here are your choices:

Skydive Airtight
  • Located in Skiatook, OK

  • 2 Cessna 182's

  • Flys to 12,000

  • Good student operation

  • Great staff and facility

  • 212 miles, 3 hour drivetime-straight up I-44

  • Skydive Hinton
  • Located in Hinton, OK

  • Small dz w/ occasional students (very rare)

  • Only flying a Cessna 172 right now because the 205 is out and they are purchasing a 182 to replace it

  • Flys to 10,000

  • 73 miles, 1:45 drivetime-all state hwy's

  • Pegasus Skydiving Center
  • Located in Chickasha, OK (405) 222-1445

  • Cessna 182-flys well

  • Flys to 10,000

  • Powerlines between landing area and airstrip-never been a problem w/ me.

  • 45 miles, 40 min drivetime-straight up I-44, located 2 miles off I-44

  • Oklahoma Skydiving Center
  • Located in Cushing, OK

  • Cessna 182

  • Flys to ?

  • Used to be the states largest student operation-now has new owner and has become experienced jumper friendly dz. I'll be there this Sat-Sun for Mullins King Air.

  • 156 miles, 2:30 drivetime-straight up I-44; about 25 miles on state hwy's

  • Skydive Dallas
  • Located in Whitewright, TX

  • Great dz-flys a Cessna Caravan and Twin Otter.

  • Flys to 13,500

  • 188 miles, 3:15 drivetime-all state hwy's

  • Hope this helps. I've jumped at every dz and each one has their pros and cons.
