Depends a lot on what type of VCR and what type of video capture card you have in the computer. You haven't really given us enough information to tell you anything definitvely.
Do you already have a video capture card in this computer?
Dub the stuff from VHS to your PC115 and then it should go into the iMac via Firewire. Couldn't be more simple.
I assume you have the Sony dub cable that came with the PC115 and I'll also assume you have the correct version of the Firewire cable (6 pin for the computer end and 4 pin for the PC115 end).
I just tried it and when I try to dub the footage, my camcorder asks for a memory stick. when i put the memory stick in records 15 sec to the memory stick and that's it. what now?

What I meant was, dub the footage from your VHS deck to a miniDV tape and then Firewire it to your computer.
You actually can use some Sony miniDV cameras as a converter, but I'm not sure which ones and didn't want to confuse you if your didn't happen to work that way -- but I guess you tried it anyway!
You have the little black switch on the back fliped to the right. Turn the camera off, move the switch to the left the turn the camera on in VCR mode. It will work now.
If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will....
I have an old Pinnacle DC30+ which was the bees knees back in 97/98, and still is IMHO for analogue work. But to avoid generation loss, its better to 'convert' the video to DV first as described above, then hose in and out via firewire. Any OHCI compliant card will do well. Try a search "ADS Pyro" on the net. I use a PCMCIA Pyro on my laptop and it works fine. Pinnacle now make a whole raft of cards that will work with analog streams, there are also sopem converters available that will bypass the conversion stage. Search for Pinnacle on the net....
Actually I figured it out...it was too easy. I had the wires to the wrong port in the VCR. I had them going into the IN port instead of the OUT port. Thanks for everyone's help!
