B-17 in South Carolina
Can't Post
The Collings Foundation B-17 will be in Liberty, South Carolina on November 3 if anyone is interested in jumping it. We'll be meeting there at 3:00 pm. I think that we're going to have the manifest list done before that day in order to expedite things. PM me for the appropriate contact info.

If we had enough people, we might could get a load the next day. This isn't an official tour stop but my company sponsors the aircraft so they're visiting in between shows. The cost is $400 with the same tax-deductable status as a regular donation and exit altitude will probably be 5 or 6 K. I know that these are pretty limiting factors, but this isn't a skydiving event. We're just trying to take advantage of a rare opportunity.

Understood. As much as I'd love to jump it ( I used to be a big WWII aircraft buff when I was a kid and I've seen video from when it was at the WFFC), the cost and date is prohibitive for me right now. Does this aircraft do a lot of skydiving operations, or is it used primarily in airshows, flying museum, etc? Do you know where I can find out the aircraft's skydiving schedule?

This is the same B-17 that has been in Rantoul adn Quincy but it doesn't do a skydiving tour per se. I'll bet that they'll work with jumpers anywhere they happen to be if time allows. It takes a full load (9) to get the plane off the ground due to the killer operating expenses. http://www.collingsfoundation.org is where you'll find the schedule. Good luck
