Re: [MikeTJumps] Gulf Region Ballot Status [In reply to] Can't Post

I have heard several things about Mike Turoff. Some good and some bad. The good things seem to way out weigh the bad. He is demonstrating fair play and graciousness in his posts about his main opponent Todd Spillers. I know that Mike has been VERY active with USPA and I am sure that he would make an excellent member of the Board. (Todd might be also - but I know more about Mike than I do Todd)

If I was in your region I would certainly vote for you and I would encourage my fridnds to do so also.

Good luck Mike!

I am happy to report that I now have enough valid signatures to be listed on the USPA election ballot in the Gulf Region slot.

Do you think that he would just make-up such a statement if it wasn't really true?

I will not be successful with a write-in campaign because of the politics in the region including a "Stop Mike Turoff" campaign.

Guys, it's getting ugly in here. Let's pretend this is Sangiro's living room, and behave as though we were in someone else'se living room.

Re: [tspillers] Gulf Region Ballot Status [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't agree with the way Chris is going about in this post, but I find this post from Lana unacceptable:

Quote:
You are immature.

I looked up some other threads that you posted in to see if my perception of you is incorrect. In the first one that is listed shows that you do have an attitude of pompous arrogance which your wife apologizes for:

Lana - I restored your access. I know people can be passionate about their candidates (pro and con) but we're not going to go at each other's throats here in this forum. I suggest both of you change direction. Smile

Whether they agree or disagree, Mike and Todd have been treating each other with respect and dignity. I trust those around them will do the same.

Obsequious -I didn't apologize for anything - I was just explaining since most people expect an immediate response and he does not have access to a computer all day.

If you took that as an apology, you misunderstood.

Chris, you're not in the region. Why are you posting in this thread? It appears pretty clear from what you post that you're not in favor of Mike joining the BOD -- if you don't want to work with him, be up front and say so, rather than being sly and indicating you have knowledge about his petition that he doesn't have.

He did the work, he did the research. If the research was faulty, then so be it, and he pays the penalty. The behind-the-scenes stuff is bullshit.

Re: [wmw999] Gulf Region Ballot Status [In reply to] Can't Post

USPA is reviewing the spreadsheet that I have submitted. I found errors in typing names and numbers that had to be corrected, and I found discrepancies between the database that I used in August and the one on the Group Member access today. I also found a serious discrepancy in a member that I know is on the rolls yet was not on the database today. That may be an indication of an auditing problem.

I hope I found enough corrections to get by and onto the ballot, but if not, I will withdraw from the race.

Lana is very quick to defend me because she sees the good I have done and she is fast on the keyboard. Like me, sometimes the fingers are engaged before the brain is, and quite honestly, part of what she posted is something that I would have said.

Chris Welker is apparently a candidate for the Southern Region.

I will keep the Gulf Region's DZs apprised of any change in status and I will post it on this board.

That is all.

Mike Turoff
