A worthy idea?
Can't Post
Why not let all regional directors receive one penny on the dollar out of every skydive made in their region. Would it hurt the DZ that bad. If a big or small DZ only took one penny off the dollar per person on every jump would it hurt their books??? Then, the directors could utilize those proceeds to a good cause that you BOD see fit.

A USPA jump tax? No thank you. We all know what happens to taxes - they only go up up UP. Like membership dues. I don't want their hand in my pocket every time I make a jump. It's bad enough having to pony-up once per year. And you would never get every drop zone to comply with voluntary collection.
I don't like the idea. We are trying to get USPA to represent the Skydiver and not the DZ. I think this would be just the opposite. DZ a contributes 10 times what DZ b contributes so that could have influence on how BOD's vote. ie - keep the big dz's contributing the big money.
My opinion, bad idea. Good that you are thinking though.
OMG...You're right! At least 16 times as much money in the pot!
I was obviously too tired to read the "of every dollar." Even with the greater money pot, I still can't support that idea as John Rich pointed out.....it is just another tax.
OK, time to bring this post alive again. Why not let all regional directors receive one penny on every jump made in their region? Not one penny on every dollar. That was my very mistake.
Same issues apply. A skydiving tax. It would go up over the years like membership renewal. I also think you would find a few DZ's drop out of the GM program.
