Candidate list by ballot

Just to put this in a more user-friendly format, here's what we know so far. The following people are trying to get on the ballot. The National Directors have to be "approved" but this is likely given the Mullins mess 4 years ago. Similarly the non-incumbents running for Regional Director still have to get valid signatures from 10% of the jumpers in their regions.
National Directors: Frank Arenas Glenn Bangs (incumbent) BJ Worth (incumbent) Max Cohn John DeSantis (incumbent) Jan Meyer (incumbent) Mike Mullins (incumbent) Madolyn Murdock (incumbent) Danny Page (incumbent) Alan "Buzz" Fink Al Gramando Karen Hawes Larry Hill (incumbent) Marty Jones
Northwest: Jessie Farrington (incumbent) Rob Herndon
Pacific: Jess Rodriguez (incumbent)
Western: Scott Smith (incumbent) Kimbo Godwin
Mountain: DJan Stewart (incumbent)
Southwestern: Lee Schlichtemeier (incumbent)
North Central: John Goswitz (incumbent)
Central: Gary Peek (incumbent)
Gulf: Mike Turoff
Mideastern: Sherry Butcher (incumbent)
Southern: Chris Welker
Northeast: Marylou Laughlin (incumbent)
Eastern: no candidate on ballot
Mid-Atlantic: Tony Thacker (incumbent) Larry Pennington
Southeast: Richard Schachner (incumbent)
So 8 of the 14 candidates for National Director are currently on the BOD and 2 others have previously been on the BOD (Gramando and Jones).
There will be nobody on the ballot for the Eastern Region and there may be nobody on the ballot in the Gulf and Southern regions, depending on the candidates' ability to collect the required signatures. There MIGHT be a choice on the ballot in 3 of the 14 regions, depending on the non-incumbent's ability to collect the required signatures. Of the 14 current Regional Directors, 11 are running for re-election and 8 of them will be unopposed on the ballot.
In total, there will be no more than 30 candidates on the ballot and there may be as few as 23. Regardless, 19 of the names on the ballot will be incumbents.
Note these figures do not reflect any write-in candidates who will not be on the ballot, as they are not yet identified. Apparently there will be one in the Gulf region (Todd Spillers?). I have not heard of any others.

Actually only the incumbents are on the ballot right now. The others must still obtain signatures (10%) to get onto the ballot.
I don't believe National Directors have to gather any signatures, only Regional Directors, which is why I said (in the first paragraph) "The following people are trying to get on the ballot. The National Directors have to be "approved" but this is likely given the Mullins mess 4 years ago. Similarly the non-incumbents running for Regional Director still have to get valid signatures from 10% of the jumpers in their regions. "
I'm glad to hear you're running because competition benefits everyone. Good luck. You'll be hearing more from me via e-mail.

Well, being a DZO may hurt me. I just hope enough people realize I am a jumper first, instructor second, and then a DZO.
Maybe that is why we aren't making more money. Not enough jumping through clouds and sending up students in high winds. Oh, well...I still hold it will pay off in the long run....

I know Todd Spillers.
He handled my Sigma/Vector cross training and I endorsed his I/E application. I jumped at his DZ for a while.
He is a rare exception to the rule. He may be a DZO, but he doesn't act like one. He was one of the few people that was actually interested in improving student training that I have talked to about it.
Although I think he is an Instructor first, a jumper second, and somewhere down the line, a DZO, and that is a compliment.
I think he would make a terrific representative of the jumpers.

I am sure I could use the votes.

Todd, I have never meet or for that matter heard of you before. But you have gotten the endorsement of people whose opinion I respect and is not given out freely. That being the case, I wish you luck and hope the jumpers in your region will make an effort to see you get the needed signatures and when the time comes the votes. Sparky

Yeah, that's why we have 10 tandem rigs and a turbine at Aggieland, so he can sling meat and make a decent amount of money.
Wait, we only have 3 rigs a 182 and two TI's? He gives discounts to the local University skydiving club so the college kids in the club can have a break? Since we were really backed up students on Saturday he gave everyone that made a fun jump their jump for 1/2 price?
Yeah, I bet you're right, he's an evil DZO who only wants to screw fun jumpers and make money.
