what do you fly? Can't Post

there are quite a few people posting here and I just wanted to know what do people jump for a main and at what wing loading. I guess I am just trying to get a feel for who speaks from experience and who posts opinions he or she had heard or learned from others.
I for example jump a VX79 loaded from 1.95 to 2.2 depending on how much weights I wear.

How about you? What is your main and how much do you load it?

Hook, do you have a cypress in your rig? We were talking about the possibility of the thing firing while diving under canopy.

No took it out because of the wingloading and after talking to SSK. I got zapped w/ a laser gun at 93 mph in the dive (pretty near vertical) and 78 horizontal. So no cypres.

XAOS-78 @ 2.3 : 1
Vengeance-107 @ 1.64 : 1

That's the usual loadings, they change sometimes when jumping with or without weights.

Re: what do you fly? [In reply to] Can't Post

Looking at this thread, I'm a bit concerned that newbies reading this will think that loadings of 1.7 - 3.1 are 'normal', and may feel peer pressure to downsize. Those jumping at these loadings are generally highly experienced, are taking a considerable risk, and need to stay very current to be safe.

Most skydivers are loading at 1.1 - 1.6 and still have loads of fun!

As somebody wise once said:
"The only good reason to downsize is because you want to go faster."

and somebody else said:
"Tiny rigs aren't cool - walking without crutches is cool."

I'll get off my soap-box and go bowling now. Do I deserve a CN number yet?

Agreed Goeff...

I find my Stileto 170 at 1.5 - 1.55 depending on last nite's dinner is plenty fast for this recreational jumper.... with only enough time / weather in a year to do about 150 jumps, its more then adequate.

PS: that dont mean I'm not itching to go smaller, but reason has prevented it....
