150 main in 190 container
Can't Post
I was told that it is ok to pack 150 main zp to Wings 190 container. Now when I put it in, the container looks a little too soft. Can somebody tell me what can go wrong with this configuration? Should I buy new container because of this?

How tight is the closing pin? One of the potential problems with what you're doing is that with the lower volume of a smaller canopy there won't be enough tension on the closing pin to keep it securely closed.
There may also be problems associated with using a dbag that's too large for the canopy but I don't really know. Anyone?

Make it simple check HC book for expected packing volume of the main(interval of cci ) and the packing volume of your main.

Call Sunrise if in doubt. What size Wings and what type of canopy?
Usually you can get 1 larger and 1 smaller in a container. Going 2 smaller is usually too much of a change and it starts to become dangerous since flaps don't line up anymore and the pin can fall out at the wrong times.

I've got a W-13 and a 150 is the smallest I would want in it (I think it's made for a 170). You should probably have a rigger look at it. Being "too soft" may not really cause any problems as long as the pin is tight and the flaps maintain the correct geometry.
One option that my rigger mentioned to me is putting a pillow or pad in the main pack tray. Might be worth looking into.

er... check with Sunrise rigging themselves. Are you sure your container's built for a 190?
I have a W13 which is sized for a 170 and would easily take a 150 (if not better than the 170 given how nice and tight it is in there).
With wings the smaller the number the smaller the container - although I see no mention of the W12 anywhere on the sizing charts this would generally seem to indicate that a W12 ought to be smaller... although I don't know the significance of it being a -3:

A call to Sunrise wouldn't hurt(Heather I miss you,....your the bomb). I've got a W-13 sized for a 170 had a Cobalt 150 in it now have a Cobalt 135. One trick I've learned is to pack the canopy as big as possible and still get it in the bag(also make sure you shorten your closing loop if needed)

If done properly, smooth corners so that lines don't get snagged, there should be no concern. I would consult with the factory and have them do it. Of course the factory might also suggest that they might be able to adjust the main container size by replacing a couple/few flaps.

I may be wrong but a Wings W-12-3 is sized for a 150-170 main with a 170 reserve. I have a Wings W-12-2 and it is cut for a Cobalt 150 and a Smart 160 reserve. I would check with Sunrise to be sure.
