"Graduated" AFF today / first post

Hey everyone, how's it going? I went to do my level 8 today, and I had some time to sit and chat since the clouds still needed to burn off and they were backed up for a little while. I met this great person Michele at lake smell-some-more, and we got to talking for a long time. Anyway, she told me I had to check out this web site, and post on the forums. I knew by that evil look in her eye that if I didn't, I was gonna get my ass kicked, so here I am! Anyway, my dive went exactly as planned, and I am now a solo student! I'm totally stoked, and having this site here for all kinds of good resources just makes this whole sport even better. Well, just thought I'd make a quick introduction before going to bed. It's late and I'm tired! (1:40AM right now). I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun up in the sky! Take care, everyone.

Congratulations on passing AFF! That's a significant achievement. Now as you work towards your A be careful to take instruction only from coaches and jumpmasters. Beware of skygods who are always ready to give advice that may or may not be appropiate for you. Blue skies and welcome to the skydiving community.

Nah...that doesn't happen. See, he's 220ish out the door, so I told him that he'd be fine on a 150 for his first canopy, prolly Stilleto, and that he should learn to swoop as fast as he can, since that's the only thing that matter in skydiving. And that he needs to wear color coordinated stuff, too...
LOL!
He's got great instructors, a decent head on his shoulders, and a neat young man. Ladies, he's a sweetie too.
Welcome to DZ.com, Lou! I was so tickled that your dive went well (told ya front loops weren't a problem), and I was very pleased you chose to wait for a canopy you were comfy under. Remember that whatever you read/hear, double check with your instructors, and have a ton of fun....and yeah, relax a bit, too .
I'm heading down there for at least one more jump today - I got a jumpdate with a bozo, so after I hit the office, I'm headed down. Come out and do your first solo - and again, congratulations!!!

Congrats Lous on passing AFF!
I just did stage 2 AFF today and it went almost perfectly. Made my JMs laugh by going backwards waaaaaaaay too fast and ending up almost backflipping, and going forwards too fast. Much fun though (though I scared myself with my backwards movement!). Cant wait to be able to fly solo. Good luck!
