Emergency exit at Witbank Skydiving Club
Received via 'Skydive Listserve' mail subscription:
Cessna 205 engine went bang @ 3000ft agl, all jumpers performed emergency exits, pilot <name edited> put her down perfectly next to a road, no damage. All jumpers landed safely.
No other information was specified.
Further information from the WSC website on this aircraft: Cessna 205, ZS-DRP, purchased by the club in 1982. ..blew an engine on take-off in December 1993. ..was refurbished with a 'new' engine in 1998 and has been in service at the club since.
I did my first three static line jumps from this aircraft earlier this year before converting to AFF. Sad to see her grounded.
