Bob Edwards, D-1325 Can't Post

Hi folks,

I got a call this afternoon that Bob Edwards passed away last week.

When I made my first jump in Feb '64, Bob was the Chief Instructor on the dz; he had about 35 jumps at the time.

He became one of my best friends for too many years to count. He was a weekend jumper & had a little over a 1000 jumps. He made his last jump about 25 yrs ago.

For the last 15 yrs or so, he & I would get together for lunch, about every 3-6 months. I last had lunch with him about 6 weeks ago & he seemed in good health. He was 78, so at that age, what happens, happens.

RIP old friend,

Jerry Baumchen

Sorry to hear of your friend's passing.

People in the skydiving world are very unique individuals and I'm sure Bob was one of those. I'll be giving Thanks this week, to the ones I know that are still with us.
