MarS M2 AAD Can't Post

Has anyone bought one of the new MarS M2 AAD's? Thinking about replacing my soon to be expired Cypres with one. It is available for a good price and they have a long track record of making military AAD's, one of which actually saved someone at my DZ a few years ago.

Check with TSE and your regulatory/rigging community to see if they are allowed in your Tear Drop.

Last I knew no US manufacturer had approved them for use in their rigs in their manuals. US riggers have to follow the manufacturers manuals and so if they say only approved (by the manufacturer) AAD's can be used that's what we have to follow.

Cheers Terry,
I know Mirage have approved them and other approvals are pending apparently.

Got this off Chuting Star

"In the U.S., the m2 currently has approvals for use in the following rigs: Javelin, Vector, Wings, Icon, Infinity, Basik 7 and Mirage. But other approvals may already be completed as well. Contact your rig manufacturer for more information."

Because the M2 is cheaper by almost half -- it's $999. Now, that's not a good enough reason for me (or, I'm guessing by your post, for you), but that's the reason people are giving the M2 a hard look.

Because it can turn off on you because it feels like it? :)

Because I'm not sure how an island nation in the Mediterranean will help me if I'm unable to deploy. Unimpressed

Because competition is good... and it can lead to better products and better prices
