Yes Dominic My Infinity is one of the largest in captivity and the reserve sat on your shelf for a long time. Lisa was kind enough to sell it to me last March I love where the belly band is.. The student rig I jumped before I bought my Infinity had the chest strap right across my breasts and hurt like hell on openings. I got with Kelly at Velocity and voila problem solved.
Oh I just got the new set of risers for my Samurai that should be here in a few weeks.. I LOVE the new risers..I can't wait to try em out.
And Kev... yes.. I am a ham... but you knew that already..

Just wanted to share mine, 6 months old and lost in the Great Elsinore Fire of 2004. My new one is being built now and will be even better, but I still miss my old Infinity.
Good looking rigs all around. Here's a pic of my I-33. I love this rig. Slept with it for a few nights after it was delivered.
I was uploading some other pics tonight and came across these from the Holiday Boogie @ Elsinore, before the fire...The pictures are of a girl twirling "fire balls" and I slowed the shutter speed for added effect.
/removed fire pics
(This post was edited by stoneycase on Feb 1, 2004, 7:33 PM)
The rig pics are nice, as are the fire pics, but since this is the gear and rigging forum and the fire pics aren't exactly gear related could you please remove them?
Thanks.

HEH... you got me there Kelly! You have packed them a few times. Not as much in 03 as 02... we'll see in 04! Thank you BTW
yea, i think i've only packed the new one once, when kyle jumped it.
but hey, no problem.
and hopefully quite a few more times in 04
Quote:
Although your Wings is sweet... ya got to admit VSE make a damn fine rig.
oh yea, i'll defintally admit to that. if i wan't getting an instructor rate on my wings, and wasn't a dealer for wing, then an infinity would defintally be on the top choices for a rig .
Quote:
As far as logos go... yeah I did em. Every once in awhile I gotta gloat a little... they're a couple of my favorites...both of em.
yeah dont thank the person that packed it and then stayed up until 2am to fix whatever the hell kind of evil step through you put in your xfire so your new rig could be all packed up and ready to go!!!
no im not bitter
edited to get even more sympathy

the way VSE is going... there are going to be A LOT of new Infinity's out there this year.
VSE is picking up speed... people are waking up to the beauty/functionality of Infinity and not having to wait forever for one and be broke at the same time.
S'all good......I actually went back to my room just to look.....I knew it didn't....but that damned little voice said, "aren't you gonna feel dumb if you missed them for the past 130 jumps.....you know you have to go look....." Sheesh I gotta put these psych notes down....
heya Andi you have some issues with front and back you might want to address...i could always offer my services but i think that would cause some issues somewhere
my next infinity (soon soon) will be in the same colors but mixed much more wildly...i want a rig that make your head spin too...!!!!
My 9 years in the Army and intense hatred for that color prevent me from saying anything other then nice choice of Manufacture.
Well, if you have a lot of experience, could you answer this question I have: is that more of an ocean gray, or a gun-metal gray? (Or, if it's definitely some other kind of gray, I'm all ears.)
We put the reserve in today. My main's still 6 weeks out - I'm waiting for a demo canopy so I can jump it. It's an I-66N (narrow) with a PD218R and a PD Spectre 210 on the way.
I did not burn EVERYTHING I owned that color.. but I did bury it very very deep in opaque plastic and buried on a shelf in the garage
Reminds me of my last few minutes at Ft. Lewis. As I was walking out of my barracks door I decided that I didn't want to take anything that wasn't civilan with me as left the Army.
I had my Class A's in a bag and all the rest of my issue in my duffel bag. I felt like I was going to another duty station or even a deployment with all that stuff. I just dropped it all in the middle of the hall way and never looked back.
I did grab my Berret and medals though.
There are times now when I wish I had kept all that stuff. I guess it was my way of closing that chapter of my life.
Not to many rigs that are that big look that good!
VERY NICE!
Thanks, but my rig feels tiny compared to our student rigs. I think they're I-88s. I also like the new "narrow" size option. Our large student rig is the right height for me, but keeps wanting to fall off my shoulders. My rig feels like it's glued on. At this point I can't imagine wearing a rig much smaller than this - it wouldn't feel like I was wearing a rig at all!
There are times now when I wish I had kept all that stuff. I guess it was my way of closing that chapter of my life.
i did something similar.. outprocessed at Ft. Stewart, finished early in the morning, climbed in the Uhaul towing my car and everything i owed and drove to my parents house in AL still in uniform...pulled up climbed out and dove straight into the pool where i left my uniform, boots, everything at the bottom of the pool.... for more than a week until my mother couldnt stand it.....
those boots are now the most comfortable pair i've ever worn. although after a week in the chlorine i dont think they will ever shine properly again...
so back on topic...
that cant be all the infinities out there...i've got a few other toys in the que but I'm already playing with colors for another 'uglier' infinity in the near future...

The coolest Infinity I've seen was one Kelly made from carbon fiber cloth. He said he didn't expect to last very long because the material didn't take flexing very well. Don't know if it was ever jumped or what happend to it.
What? you dont like my pretty?? I had several GKs complement it at while down at Eloy..I'm thinking same colors with a bit of red tiedye thrown in
and even a few compliments about the signs from a 'perfect' plf and the first desert dust on her when i took the downwinder on the other side of the runway
Hey Jeff, just looked at your "been there" stuff and found the photo of the 'clown pattern" pc. I had one of those also, back in the late 60's. There were only two clown's in the whole state of Kansas at the time. I only weighed about 140 lbs then and could land that ole pc with the greatest of ease. Sure wish I still had it. It even kept me from freezing to death on a lonely road in January in a broken down car. Great stuff on "been there" Lee c-5835
Kelly, thanks for the PERSONAL phone call today to let me know my rig is done (it's that personal touch that sets you guys apart!). Also thanks go out to Jeff for all his help with the tie-dye pattern. Look forward to posting a picture to show your creative endeavor.
Hi Joe, The yoke on that model of Infinity is pretty wide. If you are relatively broad shouldered, it will probably be OK, but if you are more of an "average" size, it may not be the best fit.
Thanks for all your outstanding service this last year! I don't think I had one customer that was pissed off because of something you guys did or didn't do for us or them!
I think we can see from this post how important customer service is and it keeps em coming back!
Here's my CRW-dedicated '97 NLE Infinity. She's a little rough from the abuse of a 1000 CRW jumps, but still a trusty mount. Infinities were a good rig then and are even better now.
My first was a NLE as well. I saw it last year 6 years after I sold it. Still looking nice after about being 9 years old or so. I tried to buy it back from the guy but he wouldn't let it go!
Hi guys - have been looking at all the pictures as i am ordering mine as soon as i am measured (can't wait!)
Just a couple of questions, extra wide leg straps yes/no? parapak yes/no? and the perennial mini or standard 3 ring and narrow or wide riser question??!!
I think I will probably go with the cordura, wide leg straps and standard risers and rings, but i just want to see what everyone else has.
Oh, and mine will be the best looking rig out there!
Back pad and inside of leg pads only. The Parapak in those spots helps keep wear down on the jump suit. Parapak on the whole container looks cool but it tends to burn if you slide in on it. It just looks worse over time and IMHO it doesn't last as long.
In reply to:
perennial mini or standard 3 ring and narrow or wide riser question??!!
I am on the side of mini and narrow. Looks cleaner when it is packed.
I just received my new (used) infinity container. I bought it on dz.com from someone who hasn't used it due to team affiliations. The container has a DOM of 1/2001. I am quite taken with the quality of the container, and I will be assembling it tonight. The only hokey thing is the cutaway handle mounting, which is behind two layers of type 7, which are not sewn together other than the velcro holding them. This I'll probably change and capture the cutaway between the two webs. I would imagine they have changed this already. It will provide good service until my two new G4s come in, but now seeing the quality, maybe I should have bought two new Infinity containers. Great job Velocity Sports!

We have not changed that yet due to the fact that simply placing the handle between the webbing will require that the velcro be pulled in shear, thereby increasing the force required to unseat the handle. A solution is in the works and on "the list" of future improvements
As always I recommend the Double wide leg straps. Mostly for bigger people, but they are so comfortable I think everyone should get them.
I resemble that.. and on my SLAMMER FROM HELL that broke my Triathalon on Sunday.... no bruises on my legs...I got the wide leg straps an I am a big girl who bruises easy.

Hmm now there is a thought maybe I should take the rig over to Velinda and have her embroider it on my INfinity.. I stopped by Snohomish today and picked up my Conquest from Tyson. since I will be jumping that for a while...until the Lotus demo Michelle is sending gets here. Hopefully my Samurai that is on order will show up... any day now.
The regular ones are quite comfortable and all that someone with slim legs would want.
Don't you have the double wides? I would consider you to have some what of.......... let's say chicken legs! [ducks, runs for cover and hides for a long time]
How do you like them?
(This post was edited by dgskydive on Mar 18, 2004, 9:35 AM)
If this wasn't the G&R forum I'd say - you call 'em chicken legs, I call 'em legs that go up way beyond my ass, the kinda thighs you'd kill to have wrapped around your neck.
But since this is the G&R forum I'll just say yes, I do have rather slim legs and Kelly says I have the regular legstraps. Super comfy.
Back to the topic at hand. We just got two new ones in today. Both on time (early) and looking good. Hey Jason you out there? I am sitting on yours right now!
CAN MAN! If you are out there yours is here as well. I really like yours.

The left and right main side flaps look all out of whack, with some of the main d-bag showing. Was it possibly packed with the flaps in the wrong sequence, or is it too loose, or ?

It's cuz it's a 210 main in a container made for a 170.... Our dzo said it'd be fine though. the guy that had it before me jumped it a ton and he never had any problems. I also emailed velocity sports and they said it'd be ok.
You are so Tiny. It looks huge on you! Tell everybody what size canopies that holds.
That was one of the SQ1 demo's right? We will see if we can get a better pic this weekend for you. It may be good for folks to see how an Infinity that has a LOT of jumps on looks. Yours looks great in real life. How many jumps did they tell you it had on it? I can't remember. It will be good to show people the quality after all the abuse our demo's take.
I know I'm tiny But at least we know I can fall fast!
Yeah I picked it up from SQ1 after they replaced it with a new rig. I believe it has 1,300 something jumps on it and is still in excellent shape, especially by being used by many different people for a demo as opposed to it being owned by one person. I'm very happy with it. For now
Right now I have a Tempo 150 reserve and I'm using a 150 main. I was told I can go down to a 135 in this container.
I don't have a digicam, so if you do, we can snap off some better pics, all I have is my webcam and obviously, the quality of the pics is crap.
I thought that one had over 100o jumps on it. It will be a good example of how rugged the rig is.
THose demos get abused by so many new jumpers. I have seen that came back in covered in Mud I mean every inch of it and they just get washed up repacked and look great after all that! I have a cheapo digital camera but it should do ok gettin the pics up.
BTW you can fall fast! Put a few pounds of weight on ya and you fall like I do! FAAAAAASSSSSSSSTTTTTTT.
Right now I have a Tempo 150 reserve and I'm using a 150 main. I was told I can go down to a 135 in this container.
I have a container built for a 150 and a crossfire 119 in there right now and it fits really well. A little soft but snug enough to go full speed in any position.

That may work fine. Something to keep in mind is that different canopies will pack larger or smaller per square foot due to different construction techniques. For example, a Crossfire will pack a little bit bigger than a Stiletto of the same size partially due to the design of the nose, a Vengeance will pack considerably larger due to the airlocks. A Vengeance 97 packs just a little bit softer than a Stiletto 97, in my experience. So you can put a smaller canopy in a container than it was designed for if the construction method of the canopy is "non standard"
I wanna thank everybody for keeping pretty much on topic in this thread so far. I have had a little reminder from one of the Greenies that we need to watch out with the little personal comments. So let's try and keep it on topic and not get this great thread locked or moved over to TALKBACK where it will get lost in a heart beat! Thanks guys and girls!
Hopefully the Greenie Gods will understand that people are people and will from time to time say hello to a friend even in the most rigid of forums.
Just saw "Bad Taste" at Eloy....i knew there couldnt be TWOrigs like that in the world....guess its going to get a little more color on Monday. wish i could hang out to watch, but my flight before then...
i dont know whats going to happen to it, but it should be interesting......
I like the scheme. I will tell you that you should change the bottom closiong flap to a darker color. That is gonna get so dirty so fast you will be mad!
When we looked at the different schemes you sent in. My choice would have been the scheme you have but with Charcole instead of the white. At least change the bottom flap. White looks so good when it is new but it picks up every piece of dirt and dust in the world.
I'm finally getting mine assembled! We were waiting on the reserve and AAD. The main is still enroute, possibly tomorrow. The new one, just like the old one, but better.
Here's the two rigs Kelly made for us. This pic is moments after we attached and packed the mains. The reserves and Vigils were installed earlier in the day.
Aerial pics to follow...

So how full were those Coronas when you strated assembling your mains?
Uh, they were full and Rich still misrouted his lines. Luckily, Tigger was around to do a continuity check, despite his 2 beers.
Dude, the new containers are great, plus chicks dig them! They have the same effect as I did when walking the beach with a puppy. Lotsa chicks come by to pet it and say how cute and adorable it is. Some have even volunteered to do a naked jump in it!
Thanks, dude!!!! ...and here's a pic of the "Staff Fridge" that Rich donated.... it came complete with 8.5 cases of beer. It's the least we could do as new Infinities require more than one case for a "First."

I'm glad you guys are happy (along with seemingly everyone else in this thread)! Now go take care of that fridge!
I pick it up tomorrow night, and if i am really lucky fordy can rig it for me on friday so i can jump it at the weekend! (but as you probably know, he has just come back from your neck of the woods so is pretty busy!) Am itching to see it!
Oh, and its been said before, but Kelly has been so helpful and obliging with everything i have asked for and didn't even seem to get annoyed at me pestering him! Much respeck.
Yeah ask Andy about the Hybrid we attempted last week. About the ugliest one I have done to date. He got it all on video. Get the pics up when you can.
Hell re-upholster that chair!? How about get some cutaway and reserve handles to match first! Or if not atleast change them! Cutaway should be green for GO! Reserve should be red for STOP!
I would but Tony gave our copy away. Now I have to wait until mine shows up in the mail.
Oh yeah, I remember now. It's the picture with the bigway and most of them are wearing Infinity's. I did notice that.
That gives me an idea. All of you guys get your rigs all pretty and clean before the boogie and we will do a few all Infinity jumps and maybe get a couple of good pics for Kelly.

Sounds good to me! So, you, me, Amazon... who else?
BTW, I think we're lacking enthusiasm for a new dizzy dot com record. Looks like last year's will stand.
Well there is four of us so far. We will get more.
Let's move this disscusion to a different forum. How about events and gatherings. So we can keep this thread about the great container we all love so much.
I sent one of my Samurai 136s to Cajones at Elsinore to jump while he was without after the fire... and now it is back (thank you Cajones for taking such good care of my baby) in it's rightful home... right next to it's brother... 2 Infinity rigs with Sam 136s...

Your Sam would have been happier if Cajones would've put it in an Infinity instead of one of those "other" rigs.
Shark... don't even get me started on that "other" rig mfg.
but I do agree with ya... would have been sweet in an Infinity!
And GT's rigs are friggin' sweet... but not half as sweet as their team jackets... 'cmon Steve... post a team pic in your jackets... AND one in your rigs!
Must admit - the rigs came out much better than anticipated. Thanks to Jonathan Tagle - rig designer, camara flyer and swoop competitor especial. As nice as the rigs are, the team fleece are even better. Adam is da man!
Will post as soon as we get pics. Probably two camps away. Adam has the logo and layout for the fleece. He can post those if he likes. Kelly also did a great job on the Boardwalk US Team gear for 2003 world meet. Those were sweet too! Maybe Kelly's da man! Been tryin to post the US gear, but files seem to be too big to upload. Any suggestions?
Steve. GT.

hey!
there is a reason i replaced that 'other' rig with an Infinity. The Mirage is still perfectly serviceable and will be for many years, but my Infinity is waaaaaaay prettier, and fits me sooo much better....
Its in the big brown truck on its way according to UPS website and my tracking number.....I hope itgets here before 11:30 when I have to leave for work.

Shouldn't need a bath every year, just don't mess up any landings.
Here in Colorado where it is a desert enviornment, it is best to wash your rig every year due to the dust and sand that is in the air. Even a good landing here will leave you covered in the stuff, and that sand and dust is worse for your rig than washing it is.
We wash a lot of rigs and every time the water is black, with a nice layer of sand in the bottom of the tub.
I've pretty much narrowed down my new rig container choices to an infinity. Only thing that has kept me maybe going a different direction is the fact its built on the west coast and i'm down here in the land of wings, vectors, and javelins (florida) that being said I've heard nothing but good about these containers and the customer sevice. The delivery time is big plus as well. For the people who have been jumping their infinity container for awhile are there any options you wish you would have added now that hindsight is 20/20????
ON my second Infinity I solved that.. I went ahead and got the Stainless. It looks better.. and TieDye.. really looks good.. other than that its smaller than my first one.. and has all the same things.. hip rings etc.
Yeah I think I'm going to go ahead and spend the money for stainless. How about the extra wide leg pads? I'm 5 foot 10 168 lbs , would they be a good idea??
I'm a big guy too (6', 215XW) and it's really a comfort having the larger leg pads. As for the stainless hardware and being on the L or R coast... I'd say it's a big plus to get em. I've seen rigs that don't have em and I would tend to believe that it makes the rig in high moisture areas last longer... despite the coating that is usually on the non-stainless stuff... but I could be wrong.
Besides I think stainless makes any rig look cleaner... why not make your infinity as sharp looking as it can be especially when you're having it made custom?
Besides I think stainless makes any rig look cleaner... why not make your infinity as sharp looking as it can be especially when you're having it made custom?
Yeah, definitely the stainless steel!!!! I didn't have it on my first one, but got 'em on my new one.

Yeah, definitely the stainless steel!!!! I didn't have it on my first one, but got 'em on my new one.
Ok gimme some opinions on these two different color schemes. Right now i'm leaning towards the blue but i seriously doubt either color is done justice bye the monitor.
The delivery time is big plus as well. For the people who have been jumping their infinity container for awhile are there any options you wish you would have added now that hindsight is 20/20????
No regrets what so ever! IMHO it is the best rig on the market, if you consider all the factors. Price, customer servies, lead times, resale value and the fact that it looks cool.
Yeah but blue or red, blue or red, i cant decide. I'm goin go take my measurements today and order the container hopefully tomorrow. My main, reserve, and cypress get here tuesday ....go me
I dont know about him.. but for me when my fingers get cold its VERY hard to grab the pillow.. especially after I dislocated a finger on my left had at Holister last year.. the Mini-D ring I had Kelly replace my Pillow with....I can hook part of my hand thru or my thumb.. which worked great when I chopped back in March.
I won't be doing any cold weather jumping , gotta love florida. Has there been any cases where a reserve was accidently deployed by someone accidently snagging another jumpers D-ring? I'm still trying to decide btween the mini d ring or pillow
I would say it would be pretty rare for that to happen. I have been a part of quite a few ZOO dives or as someone recently called them.. Jump-Fu
Majic Carpet rides.. Tube Jumps.. Freefly exits gone wrong.. etc.
You may want to search for that OR ask it in the Safety and training forum. I would say the Mini Dring I have is better than a large one for that.. but a Pillow would have less chance to get snagged. Then again.. I had a pillow and went back to a D ring.. I have pulled one of those 6 times...I LIKEE ALOT
Interestingly enough, it was NOT the D-ring on mine that came loose, it was the cutaway pillow. I don't believe this was a gear issue, however...just an exit gone wrong.
a mud flap close up...the infinity logo now is a little different (i actually like the new verions a bit better) since they got a new embroiderer (is that a word?? )
Ahh cool I appreciate you reposting that for me, the 6 weeks is going to kill me to see how is turns out. O well by then maybe i'll have enough jumps to actually put the thing on my back heh
I second that. My Infinity risers (from February of this year) are awesome. Took me a bit to get used to packing them because they're a bit springy, but I'm a pro now, and I can hardly wait for my Hornet 190 to spin up all the way down the the risers.
No velcro and no pins. I think they are the best on the market. We see them all some through here and I like them the best. Especially with the new hard housings
Hahaha I was in your boat about 1 week ago. 6 weeks is hell man hate to tell ya.
The day I got mine I went home "sick" from work just to hold it....lol.
Joe
Heh, I got home early tuesday so I could get my canopy and cypres that was being delivered :) I can't freakin wait I wish I could go to sleep and wake up 6 weeks from now
Hmm the only risers i've seen are the pin and velcro , cool i'm getting something better thats always good to hear
thanks man..... have a demo samurai 136 in there at the moment... once brian makes my new 136 to match the rig (my matching 150 won't fit), it'll be schweet
My man, you would be so much more comfortable and safe in a new articulated Wings harness and container system.
How do you define more comfortable and safe Deucey boy? I jump an Infinity and now I'm scared.
This whole time I was under the Impression my container was comfortable and fit rather nicely.I used the reserve already, and it worked so well. Is that a fluke? Did I just get lucky? Man... I'm kinda freaked out now
Well, I am getting my double-wides removed and getting regular leg straps put on and hip rings. They didn't feel comfortable walking nor under canopy - but that's just me. Before I ordered them I asked everyone who had a new Infinity and they all told me to get the double-wide leg straps. Now, they were all males, so maybe there's a difference there (well, I actually know there's a difference THERE). Kelly was really nice on the phone and I'm going to send it back next week. I liked the fit of the rig otherwise - especially around the shoulders. It seemed to be more contured. I had a picture of my rig but lost it somewhere in e-town. I'll send another when I get it back but it is beautiful.
Hey now! I never called anyones thighs fat you big ole fool!
SO I heard some stories about you and your Aff graduation night! SOunds like your first jump students that day had a real, shall we say tired intructor!
Wow. That picture looks like I really am on crack!

The word you are looking for is "hung over". As in "After a delicious meal of Thai food with Amy and Keith and drinking most of the vonNovak's champagne and then their Fandango tequila, Deuce arrived to teach the ground portion of his AFF Instructor rating amazingly hungover."
That is to say, in a status of magnificent hangoverage. I didn't realize how tired I was until the nausea passed.
You aren't quite as bad as Gareth but you're getting there.
In reply to:
If I had been drinking something, it woud have come out my nose!
DUECE- Go away now Wings boy!
BTW. It was my pleasure in the tunnel. I think you could have got your rating without any of my help, but if you think I helpd ya , then I am very happy to have done so!
Bawahaha yeah....I am a newbie so I figured I would give everyone I fly with the biggest object to grab onto possible.....I went right to my riggers house from work. Wing tip shoes, slacks, collared golf shirt, and my sponsors hat....hahaha....I want to jump like that one day...what do you think?
Heh its probably a good thing I'm not married, sleeping with my new rig might raise an eyebrow or two. I can't wait to see some pics of my rig in the "beginning stages of life"
Damn, I can't wait for some of those shots of my container in a plastic box. I'll print them out and and hang them above my headboard. Heh hows that for worrying ya kelly? Can't wait to get that sucker I'll be representin'n down here in florida
Maybe you and your staff need to start wearing rubber gloves and cover your tables with plastic covers, use disposable needels on your sewing machines etc when someone sends their rig back in for a tune up.

Oh please, bless those folks. But please get something else if you plan to sit or FF at anytime in the future.
The Wings harness and container system is the best (Yeah, my sponsored opinion), but just make sure you talk with Gravity Gear, Square One, or the Drop Shop before you buy something, you lurkers.
Almost all modern gear is exceptionally safe, but there are exceptions.
Come on guys. I have relly tried to keep this thread on track and it has been running for a while now. Let's not turn this into a something that gets locked. I am guilty as well. So let's stop now before one of the Greenies shuts this down.
This is not as an anti anything thread. It is for people that have or want to learn more about the Infinity. If you don't like it or love another brand then go start your own thread and talk about it there.
I ordered an Infinity (I-23) back in May and was told "oh, around 5 weeks." It keeps getting pushed back and now it's going to be around 9 weeks with the move and all. I'm so bummed, since the container is oh so sweet.... So if I FedEx 10 pounds of gourmet coffee to Kapowsin, do you think you all could cut the delivery time?

Dude I just talked to KElly for ya your rig now has a serial number it is #7073. I don't know how told you it would be 9 weeks but they are on crack! Your rig is having the binding tape put on it as we speak. It should be ready in about 2 weeks. From the day your order was placed the 26th of May, that would make it about 6 weeks or so.
Kelly did have to move, but it didn't slow things down that much.

No names, but I will confiscate their crack and relieve them of that burden for them. Thanks Dom, you are the MAN. I have to go wipe off my monitor screen now...
SEAKEV is going down on Thursday to get fitted for his new Infinity.. PERHAPS you might just PM him .... all of you who are waiting patiently to take along a digital camera.. so he can get pics while he is at Velocity...
somewhat off topic but since this is the resident Infinity update thread..
how does VSE recommend cleaning lots and lots of Arizona dust off a rig? fortunately they only cut the leg straps right above the fold backs so no real serious repair issues (thanks Grey for helping the medtechs find the best spots) but it is quite covered with Eloy's sand (and the reserve will be out of date before i'm back ) so it there a "full dunk" method yous guys prefer or is the brush and sponge method best??

Vacuum cleaners are the quickest way to remove desert dust. If that does not succeed, then you have to remove the reserve, reserve card and Cypres and do the whole water, Woolite and scrub brush routine.
HAve your rigger wash it for you. Since it needs to be repaired and repacked anyway.
Just have your rigger take care of it. You can wash it yourself but I am to lazy for all that. I just give it up at repack time and tell my rigger to do it for me.
but but but i'm so very very close.......so close : yet so far awaaaaaaay.
Even closer, now. They were sewin' part of your rig when I was at VSE yesterday. I've got a couple pics that I'll PM ya in the next day or so. Gotta get the software loaded for the new cam.
One big happy family, anyone want to give me a hug
Sure.. think you can survive one of mine????
Hi Amazon
I survived But i'm still impressed and I think i'm still compressed.
Beware nice lady I'm lurking you for the super lift You still on the south end? I got my reserve repacked so one of these days..... Maybe a jump together and a record lift. I'll bring the green bottles and my ladder.

RIP,
Glad to hear you're jumping more now!
Treat yourself, you deserve it, get a new/newer reserve-will ya!
Hi Sundevil
Sorry but we've had a failure to communicate. I'm in the process of getting back in the saddle again. Getting the reserve repacked was just the first step.
I just got that old, out of date, 5 cell, POS reserve, repacked No way going to get a new one. It worked befor and hopefully will work again.
The bad thing is now that my reserve is back in my rig my car is sitting in the sun without a cover over it.
I wouldn't know how to land one of those new reserves, would have to get a coach to teach my how to fly the thing & do a couple of practice hop & pops so I didn't hurt myself trying to land the thing after a mal
Maybe a jump together and a record lift. I'll bring the green bottles and my ladder.
One of these days
Last weekend off to OR and doing a bit of rigging on all the water jump stuff.
Next two weekends...LOST PRAIRIE.. And I need to take a weekend or two and go to the coast.. the big fishies are coming.. nothing like fresh chinook just after it quits twitching

ordered my first new rig last week, so I have no pics yet....Will post pics when I get it....Now between now and when I get the new rig I have to figure out how to sleep, I am chomping at the bits and it has only been a week...may be brain dead before it gets here or lets say more brain dead.....done babbling for today
I find it helps to print out a picture of what your rig is going to look like and hang it above your bed. Then make sure to bother kelly and your gear dealer about 3 times a week. It makes the time fly!

Hey, finally got the new rig! It looks every bit as awesome as I thought it would. The silver on the reserve looks like it might get dirty easily so I'll have to not land on my ass. I put a few jumps on it Monday and it's like jumping in my lazy boy recliner. The demo stuff I've been jumping so far was no comparison. That said, it is a PAIN to try to close that dinky container compared to the demo stuff. I think Dave was telling me all that stuff was sized for 170 and I'd been dropping the 132 in it. But I'm getting the hang of it. For some real laughs wait until my new canopy comes in and I try to pack THAT into this thing. See you out there!
Joe
Alex was flipping me crap for the RSL.. What up wit dat?
I thought of that but I didn't bring my camera to the DZ last time I was out and for now, the rig lives at SQ1. I'm having it shipped out of state to save the $500 on sales tax so theoretically it's in custody of the store. I'm waiting on the main to come in to send it out so for the time being, I'm just leaving it there. I mean really, what am I going to do with the container here at home? Don't answer that. From the posts in this forum there seems to be some rig perversion going on with you all! I'll get pics next time I'm out

Opinions are like a--holes. People will dispute rsl's for a long time. To have on or not to have one. There are good arguments from both sides. Go with what makes you feel comfortable and learn the pro's and con's of having one. That way no surprises. For the record I don't use one.

From what I've found, reducing the bulk in the center of the D-bag is the key to getting the bottom and top flap close to each other. I think you must have those 2 grommets close to each other for it to close as intended.

ANyone notice all the other threads out now that are trying to copy us great Infinity owners?
They are so mad they didn't buy an Inifinty. Let;s keep this thread going. Post some new pics, guys let's get the ball rolling.
A friend of mine ordered an Infinity a little while back and got a call the other day form the boys at VSE. Seems his rig is gonna be late! The reason? Kelly didn't like the way his Tie-Dye came out. So he is redoing the whole thing! I think that is great. A lot of companies would just see it and go, well that is what he ordered and that is that. VSE is eating the cost of the Tie-Dye and material to make sure it looks just right![:-)]
Wonder when the last time the owner of a rig manufacture did that. Kelly you rock! In my opinion that is great customer service!
If your thinking Infinity go for it. I love mine and have nothing but incredible service from Kelly, hrmmmm thats odd. They are great rigs, very comfy, and look pissa....:)

I don't know what you are talking about! I didn't fuss and rant all day long that it still wasn't here! I didn't cuss anybody and stomp my feet. I never once had a bad day cause I set around and stared at the calander.

You know Dom, I got so sidetracked by your "stolen" jump tickets that I forgot to get the pic. It's hanging in the back of the store if you can run by and snap a pic. There's no main packed in there now though... Glad you got your tickets back buddy!

Muahaha its has been confirmed , my Infinity container will arrive at my riggers place tomorrow and I'll hopefully have my rig together by the end of the weekend! Pics soon to follow
did this thread die, are there no new infinities being delivered these days, post your rig if ya got one.....going on a month since I ordered mine, haven't gone crazy yet...damn close though...I need my new rig really tired of jumping rentals.......
This thread isn't dead everyones just busy jumping their brains out at the WFFC. I should be picking up mine tomorrow, it was suposed to be done last sunday but for whatever reasons its taken this long. Its amazing what the lack of a few slinks can do to getting a rig together. Mines probably sitting in the loft right now done but I couldnt handle driving to sebastion , a 2 hour drive. for the 3rd day in a row.
Nah. It won't die. There are a few of us waiting patiently for our rigs. I'll be dropping by VSE in another week and a half to drop off the reserve for my rig. I'll take pics of the rigs that are in progress.
