Sorry for my slackness. I let time slip up on me and didn't get this posted when I should have. I'm gonna put up this quick post and hope a nice mod with edit it for me when I get the details written up
The subject line tells you when and where now here's a little more.
I have two Super Otters reserved this year. One is from Skydive the Farm and the second from Skydive Spaceland. We will also have Ed back with the Hot Air Balloons. I'll be working on a chopper and any help in that area would be appreciated.The bonfire will be a go again and maybe pushed up to the next level. Saturday night entertainment for sure, other nights possible. Lots of organizers for all levels. There are usually people there coaching for free.

Hey everyone, Chris has invited me back to organize again this year (what a glutton for punishment he is) and I think you will really enjoy what we have plan.
Friday morning: We will break the current Georgia Pop’s record from last year. This will be the only formation loads during the boogie (r.w). Regular jump ticket plus $4.00 for extra altitude and video. Be at the drop zone early to get on. We will start with any qualified jumper then shrink it as needed to knock this off FAST. No larger than 40.
Saturday morning: We will split into two teams (Jack Donovan will captain one team and me the other) and do the same jump. No larger than 20 per team. The team that does the most point for the jumps that day wins. Regular jump ticket plus $1.00 for video.
Sunday: Fun jumping as needed. (After we wake up from the killer party Saturday night)
There’s no other registration fee for the above, just the regular boogie registration!
Saturday night before the big party gets going we will watch the videos and drink some cheap beer that I will provide.

I'm not throwing my name in just yet. I thought I was going this past March and got sick at the wrong time. Now I haven't jumped since Sept 2010
We'll see how it goes this time.
I wanna be on that jump.
I wanna see that currency training.
I've gone a year without jumping once before a couple years back. Nothing to it. Do a solo, a couple simple dives and I'm back in it. That other time I went to the nearest DZ to get current the week before Fitz too.
Oh and the great thing about being fucking deaf, I don't have to listen to the freefall noise.
Normiss, you'd have to have those big ass air horns and be less than a yard behind me to make me jump. Fucker!

I would say Atlanta GA, Jacksonville FL or even Tallahassee FL. If I remember correctly they were all about the same distance or it was similar driving time.
So it depends if you are sharing a ride or not and if so where are they coming from.

i dont know if im going to go this year or not. even though i didnt jump last year it was still an absolute blast! and i got to meet alot of you fun people. nothing like sitting on the porch for 16 hrs drinking beer watching the mayhem. im torn between this or flying up to boston to see dropkick murphys play st pattys day. ahhh! decisions decisions!!

Update: Staying with my normal mode of operation I will let you all know if/when something changes and I will soon get a better write up in the first post.
Skydive the Farm has sold their Otter. Coming to replace it is a newly converted Blackhawk Grand Caravan. This is a bad assed airplane. The Blackhawk conversion is an 850 shp Pratt & Whitney -42 engine. That's an increase of 175hp. I'm excited to see what this bird will do.

keith's is no problem. i picked that up at the duty free on the way in. i'll bring some real ipa as well.
on another note, i don't think i can bring bacon. they give us a hard time at the border about any fruit or meat. i guess only terrorists eat bacon. adding in the fact that customs tore my car apart last year and i probably wouldn't get it into the country. i blame jon. he's a shifty looking fucker.

Don't forget to stop by the bank and pickup some $2 bills. Yes, most banks will have some. Bring them to registration and stamp them with a parachute stamp before you go into town and spend them. It helps show the town that we are spending money there.

Was going to start pushing this week.
Most of the boogie info is available and easy to find on the forum at RoamingOutdoors.com. I'm not sure if the forum registration is unlocked yet (we had some trouble with spammers) but you should be able to see them.
We will need to pre-book and pre-pay enough balloon slots to make it worth Ed coming down. We have never had a problem doing this and if something happens the slot is refundable or transferable to aircraft slots.

WOOHOO!! My leave finally got approved. So it looks like this will be my first boogie (already got called for beer). I’m trying to bring some others from up north but might be headed down by myself.
Although I was worried about having my “b” license it doesn’t look like that will be a problem. I’m headed to Eloy for a week to jump my ass off and do some tunnel time. I might even be able to hit my 100th at the boogie. So as a sub 100 wonder, will there be people to jump with?
I’m used to smaller club DZs were I know everyone and even Handsome Dave will do a 2-way. I’ve only ventured to a big DZ once and I was the only fun jumper on the Otter, so that was fun.
I do feel as though I owe Billy Vance a drink for all the time I’ve spent on “BillyVance's sick and twisted and/or NSFW photo attachment thread”. Do you have a favorite bottle of poison?
Anyways, I’m looking forward to meeting some of the people I have seen posting in the forums.

I'll respectfully suggest: At any boogie, you're going to be on planes with multiple jumpers doing multiple disciplines and more canopies being in the sky at one time than you are used to.
Hopefully, your time in Eloy will expose you to that environment. And more importantly, hopefully, before you jump there, you will ask to get some real advice and instruction at Eloy on how to handle that new environment.
Key points (among others): -Load/exit order -Exit separation -Clear your airspace -Head on a swivel -Collision avoidance -Conservative canopy piloting -Proper landing patterns
Please get the advice and instruction before you jump. It's a different world from the small, intimate DZ environment.

I am going with 2 other friends and we already booked tunnel time. We are planning on hiring a coach for the first day or two and split the cost 3 ways. Each of us has 40-60 jumps so it should be a good learning experience and well worth the money.

There's gonna be plenty of people to jump with and plenty of fun jumps. Don't waste your beer $ on billyvance... just get him a pack of hearing aid batteries (prefereably dead ones). Since you're from a small DZ, I'm willing to bet you'll owe plenty of beer once you start jumping. Listen for the muff-in man Rick to announce some fun jumps. They're always a hoot... and every now and then they even work out as planned...

How about getting them up on a fence for some caterwauling, then throw tomatoes and shoes at 'em.
In addition to the large tent that we normally put up for the event we will offer private tents again this year. Some of you may remember we did this with great success in Dublin. A private tent insures that you and your frinds have a place to keep your stuff and a place to kick back and relax.
The 15x15 frame tent is $150 20x20 frame tent is $300
20x30 pole tent $300 30x30 pole tent $400
These prices include tax and are right at cost.

As a reminder,The large tent is open for public use. Skydive The Farm will not be putting up a separate tent this year.If that has been your private space then you and your friends should make other arrangements.

Question about license requirements. I am a new jumper from Canada and only have my solo license. I have done all the requirements for my CSPA "A" license, even wrote and passed the exam but unfortunately it expried before I sent it in to CSPA. So now I have to rewrite my test in the spring to officially get my license. I didn't figure it would be a big deal as I was not planning on traveling to boogie's in my first year. Well that changed when I had the chance to go to the Z-Hills boogie over the Christmas holidays. There they didn't have any issues with taking my solo license and letting me jump, I ended up doing 18 jumps that week for a total now of 55. A few people from my home dz are going to this boogie and it looks like I might be able to come as well (scheduling and money are looking good) but I wanted to make sure that I can actually jump if I do end up going. What are you thought?

My first thought is it shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure we can find qualified people to jump with you.

I have managed to line up a chopper for the boogie. Disclaimer: This guy was referred by a jumper and seems like a stand up guy. He had flown jumpers before but I have never done business with him.
We will have a MD-500. It will haul 4 jumpers depending on weight. Looks like the cost of jumps will be $65.

It's probably on here but I'm just lazy.
But it does give you a chance to reiterate.
Several things going on. Fortson Rumble is organizing a POPs record that will break up into 10+ ways after they do the record. I have several organizers that will be doing everything from small funways to more serious 10+ways. If you're looking for big names this is not the boogie for you.
Some of my FF organizers are going to Fla. for a World Record camp but I have Sunman lined up along with a couple others.
Also have a few wingsuiters coming.
Sorry if this isn't enough info. Basically if there is a need onsite I will try to find someone to fill it.

Oh I'm coming, I already sent in a deposit for a balloon jump and I plan on jumping that helicopter too.

I’m looking to take another week off after the boogie to do a canoe trip with a buddy of mine and I was wondering if anyone knows the name of the river just north of Fitzgerald? Would it be a good river for a 5-6 day canoe trip? Is there camping along the river?
You could easily spend 5-6 days on the river. I believe it goes all the way to the coast but I'm not sure how long a trip that is. I think most of the land along the river is private property. I know there are people who camp along the river but I don't know if they camp with permission or trespass out in the middle of no where.

I sent a river outfitter an email asking for more info and shuttle service.
Let me know if you need any more info or help. I don't know much about the lower end of the river but we not far away. Make sure someone knows where you are.

Quick run down on everything: At this point I'm trying to keep costs where they were last year. I'm having to keep a close eye on fuel prices rising and the airport works with me the best they can. I also have a possible addition to the entertainment. -Registration is $35 with a slight possibility of going to $40 depending on the above. -Lift Tickets are $26 -Helicopter jumps $65, observers if allowed $65 -Helicopter sight seeing rides $50 -Balloon slots $95 including observers -Full service RV slots $20 a night, may be required to share slots,fee is not split -Tents or RVs not needing power are free, Don't get caught stealing power. -Private tents rented from us will be allowed to tap into rv park power if available. Bring your own cords. -Other tents needing power I will have to announce later -Read the next one twice!!! -THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING BETWEEN THE BUILDING AND RV SLOTS. NONE,NONE,NONE. I get tired of the people every year that think they are special and ignore me when parking and when asked to move their car. If your car comes up missing please see me to find out where it was towed.

To clarify the parking statement. It means between the building and the 1st RV slot, including that section of road. You may park past that in between the Crepe Myrtles. Do not park between the RV slots unless it is your RV.
