Not to sure if I will be driving the skyvan down or not. still haven't repaired the damage from the last trip
Might be flying in or hitch hiking, I'm sure I will figure it out. Definatly won't be bringing any extra pants this year. Pants are totally useless at LP

Speaking of lists! I gotta start organizing mine! Oh and we have a dutch oven to bring along this year too. Thinking pulled pork like Mike Lyons makes.

I haven't decided yet. I do have 3 weeks off of work though! But I tend to be shy and get intimidated. I will know nobody! I went to the peurto rico boogie and wound up being the lonely girl in the corner cause the few people I asked to jump said no, then I became a chicken shit! I'm going to try to be more sociable!

I went to just Fitz by myself and didn't know a single person and had a blast. I seriously doubt you will have any issues finding friendly people to jump with at LP. At least not with any of the people I know will be there! If Bolas goes, you may have to run and hide.

Lost Prairie is an experience. It was my first boogie I went to....I think I had 27 jumps. I had an awesome time. Everyone EVERYONE is SUPER friendly. The view is unforgettable....attached is a photo a friend took of the cross country load. AMAZING! The lake is therapeutic. Make sure you don't miss out on the fire tower flyby. You should be able to hitch a ride with one of the many people who go.
Make sure you pack LOTS of layers. It does get really cold at night.
There should be a good crowd of us from Ritzville WA. Make sure to say hi.
Also....let me know if you need a ride. I'm not sure what all of our plans will be. We talked about floating the Clark Fork River (also in Montana) while we are there this year. If it works out I'd be more than happy to pick you up. Just an FYI...its normally a lot cheaper to fly into Spokane than Kalispell.
Looking forward to meeting you!! And stay away from Bolas.....I heard he likes to Slurp!

LP is all about having fun. It is not just about jumping, but hanging out at the lake, sucking less when singing to the opposite sex, enjoying some huckleberry ice cream, trying to become a cunning linguist, and maybe surviving the drive to/from the tower.
You just have to go and see what it is all about. But be warned, it is habit forming. Haven't missed one since I started. Don't intend to either.

A,
So that you would have time to enjoy some skydiving, we could schedule a special "Spanking Hour" so you can take care of all the Naughty skydivers in one session. Might need to extend it to a couple hours. We already have the stocks ready and waiting thanks to the Canadians.

Perhaps... But I want to get headed west as soon as we get there. I have only the one week to get back here to the Pacifici NorthWET for a deployment into a datacenter I am working on, not to mention some other big doings in May.
I want to get to Santa Fe and Taos and Durango etc to do the whole photography thing.... proably a waste but maybe I will manage a cool picutre or two on the way back here to Seattle

I have a friend from Portland who has never seen that part of the country in tow. I dont know how far we can get to the west.. but we are not going to be dilly-dallying around Dallas for very long
All of us only have a week off and we want to maximize out vacation time over in the 4 corners region.. Mesa Verde... Monument Valley... Arches...MOAB.....Zion... and then zoom off thru Western Utah to central NV and up to Oregon and home.

Can't wait to see everyone at West Plaines for the Memorial Day boogie! I've been trying to figure out which airport to fly into for LP - Spokane or Kalispell? What do you think, should I fly into Spokane and rent a car and drive or should I fly into Kalispell and see if I can catch a ride to the DZ? Ideally I could fly into Spokane and find a ride to LP and chip in gas money that way I will have more jump money. I'll was planning to fly in the 24th and flying out the Aug 1st but my schedule is somewhat flexible.

it will probably be cheaper to fly into spokane, but check it out. i know that doc and i are driving over on sunday 25th or monday the 26th and then driving back on the following sunday (1st). Right now i know we are driving one extra person but if more need a ride than we will probably bring two vehicles....so if you are really sweet to me or doc we should be able to make it work. i am not sure how many are coming from wps except for me/doc/skootz/freeflier29....but we have a ton of new up jumpers this year so it will probably depend on how many can kick out their A license before lp. i am not sure on when skootz plans to go over, but they may be another option.

Hey Skootz or Doc and Cindy, It looks like I'll be flying up with Brian again with just a little bit of luck. I'll know later this month for sure. If I do, I really need someone to bring my tent and sleeping bag to Prairie for me. Can someone bring them over if I leave them with you guys after the BOS boogie? Please.
K-dub - we will help you with the tent and sleeping bag as well.....if you want we will have you, luv2fly and bolas chip in for gas/food and we will do all of the main meals. I will let you know about what we will be cooking. there is some food available there but it can be somewhat limited --- usually we do a spaghetti, a whitebean chicken chili and some other yummy stuff. doc does most of the cooking so it is always very good.
Lucky and Pat this includes you....just let us know so we can start the food prep in advance.....
and pat we can bring your stuff, just leave with us at memorial day -----

Thanks, Cindy. Knowing I can get my stuff there helps a lot. I'd love to chip in for the food. I know how yummy it is. See you next month at Ritzville.

101 to the official start - YMMV.
I am getting there early this year... but I am being a snob... and staying down at Larry's Hanger again.
I am coming over with a friend who has a motorhome so I get a nice warm quiet comfy place to sleep.
We do have room for a couple riders if they want to throw some money for gas to the MH owner.
We will be leaving Seattle on 21 July and coming back to Seattle on 2 August.

You might check on a flight to Missoula. A lot of jumpers are coming from that direction. You should be able to catch a ride with somebody....

N.D.fallrate, Is this Craig? I'm thinking seriously of showing up! But I haven't jumped in two years. I know that's disgraceful! I hate showing up at L.P. that far out of practice. I did get my reserve repacked last summer. It seems like the older I get the busier I am. I need to start setting priorities and get back in the air. My daughter is getting married in July. If I can find a way....I hope to make Lost Prairie...

I haven't jumped AT Lost Prairie the last two years. Last year I didn't even take my rig. Not jumping allows for way more time for lake loads and breakfast beers.
Show up. You know you want to. You know you'll have fun. Even if you don't jump.

See.. this is why a lot of trips to the lake are needed.....the lake is 300 feet deep on the East end... eventually if enough people from the Prairie jump in MacGregor Lake... it will fill in and be just another pretty flower filled meadow like all the other ones on the way to Kalispell that have filled in since the glacier melted

Glacier is a must see.....but I say take more than a day. Could you do it after LP is over or do you need to start heading back down south?
Last year I did both the boat tour of McDonald lake....WELL worth the money and the Red Bus Tour....not so worth it. The guide we had on the bus tour was new and didn't really provide any "good" stories....
The hiking is unbelievable from what I've heard. I was hoping to get up there again this year, but plans have changed to a river floating trip instead. Speaking of which....anyone who wants to do two days away from LP are more than welcome to come. We have a cabin close to the Clark Fork River and are planning to float that one day....drink the day away....then drive back to LP the next day.

If you are planning on overnighting anywhere near GLACIER NP.. at the height of the tourist season....I would highly recommend making a reservation LAST YEAR. Get online and find some place to park the trailer if you can. I dont think they allow trailers on the Going to the Sun Road due to the size restrictions.

The length restriction is when you hit the Park gates to pay so keep that in mind if you take your trailer. Find a spot BEFORE you get to the gates or you'll have to turn back.

Sure thing!!! At the cabin it's going to be first come first served for the beds, but there is plenty of space for airbeds or you can choose to tent it. I will iron out the details this week....but I believe we will leave LP on Tuesday...go to the cabin and most likely float that day. Then head back to LP on Wednesday.

Hey all!
Im pretty much a newbie here, and just got back into the sport this year after doing my student stuff a couple years ago. So, I've been thinking it would be cool to travel to an event or 2 this summer.
My question is this. Is Lost Prarie the kind of boogie where a low timer would be able to have a good time, or is it more for experienced people? I'll probably only have about 70 or so jumps by the time it comes around, but wouldnt want to travel there and then find out there are no other folks for me to jump with.
So I guess what I'm asking is would this be a good event for me to attend if I had to pick one?

Prairie is the best of the best in my opinion.
I went there with 27 jumps my first year. I got to meet so many people it made my head spin!
If you are coming by yourself make sure to introduce yourself. Go to the bar at night....buy a couple of rounds....you will have LOADS of insta-friends.
I don't know where we'll be camping this year....typically we've been in front of the Byranada crowd. Come introduce yourself!!! There should be a pretty good crowd from Ritzville, WA coming up. (Including all the random people flying in) I'm sure there will plenty of people from our group who'd be willing to jump with you.
Prairie is a bit more than just skydiving....there are so many other things to do while you are there. The lake down the road is awesome for the afternoons when it is warm. The more everyone keeps talking about this boogie the more excited I get. And what's this about red corsetts for red nightie Tuesday? I like that idea.

Prairie tends to get pretty damn cold at night. Cindy had the awesome idea of getting red corsets instead of nighties so that we can wear jeans with it and stay a bit warmer.
I'm not sure which night it will be though....hopefully not Tuesday, because I won't be there. I thought I heard maybe the same night as the Crack Choir.

Don't worry about the Cracks. After we kicked their asses so bad last year, the Cocks will rock the house all night long and the Cracks will be crying, off key, in their warm beer.

The firetower trip is not to be missed. There is red nighty night. Topless Tuesday. Jello shots. Crawdad feasts. Just way too many awesome things to list.

I would be coming from Houston and I jump at Spaceland. But I am sure that there have got to be some people from here going. I'll have to ask around since I'm still getting to know people.

The WestPlains group aka "the Ritz" aka ritzville washington has about a dozen of us that are coming for sure ---- several still trying to work out logistics.
This will be our 4th year at prairie.....people often ask me why we don't do something else...uhm "HEEELLLLOOOOOO it is Prairie - Need I say more?"
Our group is usually down by Byranada ---if we get there early enough we will be setting up across from them like we did last year. Not only are there lingerie/nekkid jumps but there is usually quite a few tracking dives, the sunset crosscountry jump ---- the cock chorus/crack choir; the fire tower, lots of boobie flashing and poker games..... so many things to list there is just no way to do it.

It's super official. I have all of my requested days off so we can leave a week early. Wahoo! Now we can take our time and check out some sights on our way to LP.
Anyone from one of the big Utah DZs planning on heading up? We are thinking of trying to hit up one or both of the turbine DZs and the tunnel in one direction or the other.

Actually "Mad John Dobleman" is one of the biggest names, or is it longest? of course, Dan BC is longer if you spell it out.
Maybe Skyfest has some longer names but they don't have Barry dealing, so you makes your choices. And they definitely don't have Shell's boobs at the bar.

I was just cleaning out my locker at the firehouse and guess what? I found a box of photos from the "25th"...the greatest boogie in the history of the world.
I'll bring them up for everyone's review. 1992. Damn we look young!
And I found a box of VHS tapes from the early 90's from LP. One tape has the 16 way out of four otters. I'll have to sort them out. Can any of you make them into DVD's? I'm way too Fred Flinstone for that.

DAMN!!! We must look GREAT in those photos! I gave Stinky a whack of photos from that year to put on the new bar ... wonder if you have some of the same.
I would LOVE to have a DVD of that load ... that was one of the most memorable jumps EVER!!!
Hobble on over to Byranada when you get there ... I have a gift for you from Quack (STILL!!!!).

That sounds like a there's a good story behind that.
Larry Hill had all four otters there one year. He wanted a photo of them in formation over the DZ. We did a 16 way last out of all four of them. It was pretty cool.
Stinky will be slaving away in the kitchen again, crankin out breakfast and lunch
. Bolas are you serious???? Are we not going to feed you good enough....hahahaha. for that you are driving by yourself and the chicks are all riding with doc in red corsets to show those of our arrival!
Is all that available every night?

Yep, 'll be organizing flocks and providing wingsuit first flight courses for those qualified. Hope to have some demo suits for birds that want to try something new.
Wingsuiting? Did someone say something about wingsuiting? I guess since you guys are twisting my arm so damn hard Ill be there. It really would be nice to flock with more than like 2 effin people.
Add millertime24 to the list. BTW, do you guys want me to bring some Utah beer? Seriously you can drink like 20 of them and not be drunk. You'll feel like a barroom hero!

madjohn there on the 21st
I don't even start looking at the weather for the coming weekend until Thursday evening. The weathermen are always changing their minds on what's going to happen. So I say there is still a VERY strong chance that the weather will be perfect the entire boogie.
Can't wait to finally meet all of you crazy left coasters.

There will be lots of flocking and the view is incredible. Don't waste any room for that Utah beer. Plenty of good stuff at the bar.

SWEET! You guys flying suits that play well with a P2? I'm really looking foward to the view and even some puffies (we dont get all that many in UT).Good to see we've got an organizer for the newer w/s guys like me. Usually I just exit first and fly base, but I would like to expand my skills a little in catching up to the base guy.

Thanks! That's awesome of you! One of the ingredients is grain alcohol.....a liter of it. Will I be able to get that in Washington, Idaho or Montana? You can't get anything above 151 in California.

What is that in the old landing field across the runway from the packing area? Why, it's skydivers landing there again. THE SKYDIVERS HAVE ACCESS TO THE FIELD! No more trolley rides. Even FREE beer as part of the deal. Let's hear lots of chatter and spread the word.
