It really sucks, I really want to go to LP and have for years!! The dates are always a problem for me. I have always heard GREAT THINGS about this event.
Folks, this is one, if not THE longest running event in skydiving history! This event stands on its own.
After you go to (you know where) head to LP! I am jealous of those who can go.

I just want to jump and the whole shuttle thing... waste of everyones time..
IF you want to jump into the lake.. BRING A RIG.. period..
I will not be hauling 5 rigs over and getting a rigger to pack all of them up so he can make a jump... that was too much of a pain for all involved..and it still cost me an arm and a leg.
I have my rig I will jump.. I will get the reserve repacked on my own before I go.
I have my own flotation and I bought some spares... anyone who wants to do beach or water jumps at some point MIGHT want to invest in their own approved flotaion..
One of mine.. sprouted legs or fins and has not been seen since...
STILL the watrer jumps are fun.. we went out of the Otter last year.. in some pretty stout winds for the ParaCommander I jumped but I still landed only about 100 ft out from the dock..
Edit to add: I'm not sure about exact travel dates yet and I have a little room to be flexible other than that I can't stay for the entire boogie, so if anyone is interested in coordinating flights to Spokane and getting a ride (I'll be renting a car) PM me.

Well the first weekend is a lot lower key than the second.. that is when the VERY best suff happens.. weekend two....you definitely do not want to miss the 2nd weekend if you can not come for the whole thing

If you want to check out Glacier, it's probably best to drive. BUT with that said, there are usually a few groups of people that head out there for a day or two in the early part of the boogie to hike and hang out (it is AMAZING and I miss my days pre-tent-trailer when I could drive through the park and over the "Going to the Sun Road").
Keep that in mind if you're driving AND you have a trailer. They have a 21' MAX going over the pass with a vehicle and/or vehicle+trailer.
If you're going to LP with something towable, go to LP and park and THEN go back for a day or two and go through the pass. It's worth the trip.

Hey, in my (humble) opinion, most Canadian beer is piss beer, like Kokanee, Labatt's (and USA Coors, Miller, Bud, on and on)

The only problem with bringing the monster is you need ALOT of ice, and power...so that is something to think about, that I hadn't previously thought about...but you never can tell who will show up at prairie.

I need to talk to the powers that be to see if the monster can come out and play.....they may say no! Not that I would blame them for that. I think if the monster shows up it will be a nice surprise - I just don't want to get any hopes up until I talk to the owners.
Because of the recent unfortunate events around the country, at the Boogie, there will be enforcement of penalties for unacceptable canopy handling. I have had many people volunteer to help with this matter. I have received numerous suggestions on how to handle this situation.
I advise everyone to get your mindset in focus that you will not be able to do whatever YOU want at the Boogie. During your visit to Lost Prairie, you must behave and respect everyone in the air with you. If you want to play, you have to play nice.

Thanks for standing up and taking control of this issue at LP. A lot of us newer jumpers were really concerned about this, and were hoping there would be some supervision and enforcement in the landing areas. Ed

Driver coming from LP will be questionable on his or her sobriety thus exposing one self to at least 45 minutes of drunken highway exploration while traveling from Kallispell (fuck off I can't spell) to LP.
However
Drivers coming from Washington (Spokane) will more than likely leave sober but by forces beyond their control, they will be exposed to beverages that might alter the way they travel to LP and therefore cause their highway exploration to be similar to those who have left LP.
Confused yet???

You can also try flying into Missoula. It's about 1.5-2 hour drive and it's usually $100+ cheaper. It also depends on the day you arrive/leave. Try +/- a day at the beginning and end of your trip.

Roy - I'm your friend, so I've usually tried to tolerate your wine catastrophes over the years. The nice people at LP who don't know you are unlikely to give you the same amount of slack, so don't you be bringing any of that shithole plonk!

Jason, I had to make my own list.... 1)Get to LP early and make sure Jason can't find level ground to camp on, while I have warm lodgings. 2)Drink plenty of water and Lang 3)Share wines with the Spokanites and more 4)Be the first ECL at LP40 5)be a EPL at LP40 6)Jump into Lang to dring more Lang...do I bring beer to that one for a first? 7)Outdrink Ego than, 8)Find passed out Jason and draw on his face!

You could join Camp Alberta, with KHarkness, Dallas, and Pastor Rob... Don't think they'll have any girls as part of camp, but they are a hoot, and fly like there's no tomorrow! Speaking of beer, Lang is right down the road. They invite us over for free beer on Wednesday; I'm sure that if you call ahead to arrange it they'd be glad to let you purchase a couple more kegs to share with your friends at the dropzone later in the week.
